Breakfast was biscuits and sausage with coffee on the side. Had to go into Marshall today and got lunch at Jucys Burgers. Great burger with fried green tomatoes on the side. 😁 That and Fried Okra would be a nice change with a Burger. Visited their website. Looks to be a great place!

Probably would be in the top 5 in Harris County.

Calamari with sweet peppers, bacon, onions, and Ancho Chile Mayo.
Bistro club sandwich on a grilled ciabatta, and thin fries that are perfect.

My boss was blood brothers with Joe Alioto in SF, at his restaurant Alioto’s #8 at Fisherman’s wharf, it was the best…. Good tonight, but not in the same league. Phil’s dis market in Moss Landing north of Monterey is a close second.

soon the usual Fri late afternoon doings. Back home with groceries, help wifie put 'em away. Back to diner across from grocery store, home with two fish frys. Either haddock or cod, can't tell the difference. Total for all incl two sides, tip for server...$19 & change (such a deal). Oh, those are half a fish, beer battered. The full size, way too much our shrunken bellies from age

Visited Costco meats section today...they had no filets for sale...asked and they said they were still packing them, come back in 10 min....came back and before the guy had time to put them in the cooler they were gone...was able to grab 2 packs that looked good. That translates into 16 steaks...sealed them up in the seal-a-meal plastic and put them in the freezer...pup was supervising!

Last couple of times they were $40. This time $53. Don't know the exact weights involved, but it's clear the price is going up.

Had lunch at Panera Bread - an almond chicken salad sandwich. Never cared for the food there. This visit didn't change my mind.

You seem to have a lot of power outages, John. Rural area. Things happen. 20 interruptions this week alone. Most were quick off and ons. Enough to stop a computer if not on an UPS. My UPS keeps count of the number of times it switches power.

Read about a great new breakfast treat. Take an air-fryer and place a slice of buttered bread on the bottom. Drop and raw egg on top and bake. "Viola"! It is quick. It is easy. It is Fun, boys and girls. So, I tried it.... Don't believe everything you read on Facebook!

The "Angus" label in and of itself doesn't mean much in regards to top shelf meats. In the past I have gotten some good stuf, other times...meh! www.certifiedangusbeef.com/brand/best-angus-beef.phpI have gotten certified Angus at Costco and Kroger stores when it has been a buyers market, when it isn't, most of it is destined to restaurant suppliers.
