Home from my weekly lunch date with mom. Started making my way to her favourite greasy spoon when she kindly told me she wanted Japanese. I think she takes joy in having me second guess our lunches. 🍱😉

Went to a nearby town with friends to have wine and dinner. A place called Cooper's Hawk.
Good wine. Great food.
A wine tasting before the meal. I concentrated on dry reds. They had a good California red blend and a great Australian Shiraz.
A sun-dried tomato/olive/goat cheese flat bread as an appetizer.
Then I had a filet mignon with a bleu cheese crust, wasabi/butter mashed potatoes, and shoe string onions.

Sounds like you are roughing it! 😉 They have a restaurant in Scottsdale, I might have to check it out.

Citrus salad with sweet oranges and Texas Red Grapefruit and grilled shrimp adobo with a pineapple orange dressing. Ciabatta with oregano and bacon. Baklava from my middle eastern neighbor (A linguist/ intelligence officer that speaks seven languages) who just returned from the sandbox and was retired because of her age. The gal cannot boil water, but she makes the best Baklava I have ever had.
