next to be Schwan #662 (2) toaster waffles, one cycle. Add usuals & nuke to plateful of mess. That + k-cup cocoa, all to smoking room desk, eat & continue with the papers. At my age, enjoy my routines. Xcept for Sunday brunch, have 4 Schwan breakfast items to rotate.

I got a Chefman 2-qt from Amazon. $39 delivered. I figured the 2-qt would be plenty for me. It easily holds 4 egg rolls, or a piggy-portion of fries for one person. I'm hoping to increase my vegetable consumption. You can just put them in frozen, no need to defrost. In the process of learning it, but the curve is very low. Easy to use and very easy to clean, too.

after helping wifie put away the groceries, to diner across from grocery store, bring home two fish frys (either cod or haddock depending on owners' wholesale cost...never can tell the difference). if donate the sides for me, total $12.95 + $3 for the server. Has worked well since da Mrs too debilitated to go. We're now at 50% capacity for sit-down customers.

I ordered a Cuisinart Toaster Oven type Air fryer. It has the controls I recognize- dials. Big enough for bread and roasts and a chicken, although not at the same time. My 20+ year old electric oven never has been the same since it caught on fire around 2007. Only the top element works. The convection fan helps but always cold on the bottom. Time for an upgrade. Always had good luck with Cuisinart products although now I am sure they are made in that foreign land where funny things happen.

I like the Chefman because it has a basket you dump stuff in, and out of, and that plugs into the power unit. Clean-up is quick and easy, with none of the shenanigans you have to go thru with, say, a George Foreman grill. Besides, everybody needs a new kitchen toy occasionally.🤪

Green Chili with Turkey tenderloin, quartered corn tortillas thrown in at the end. It is remarkable the flavor which corn tortillas add. You would not think so. But, they are great!

Breakfast was a small El Monterey Breakfast Burrito reinforced by two White Castle Cheeseburgers. One would have been sufficient but since it is snowing, both. Some Green Taco sauce just to stay in step.
They all go from the microwave to a hot iron skillet with peanut oil for finishing crispy.

Set up sourdough sponge for bread baking last night and it was ready this morning. Sourdough starter only, no fresh yeast. I have to improve the presentation. It is hard to see on that bread board.

Nice! Love a good sourdough. Yes, it is a joy when getting the sourdough starter right. Mine is a mix of unbleached high protein bread flour and an excellent whole wheat. It is written that whole wheat contains more wild yeast than the more refined flours. I guess that is true. This time I am carefully stirring and feeding my starter. I have lost so many over the years from neglect. I had one in the 1970s which was reportedly very old. My uncle gave me some. He had gotten his from Spike Africa, a notable character and traveler at the time. .

It took a while to get going, but once it was going, it was hardy.
