Brrr... it’s cold outside! Another cold, cloudy day with 30% probability of perception while temperature expected to top out at 54f. Guess I’ll be wearing my fleece jacket a little longer.

Cuz drove down from his place y'day at Fawn Lake and stayed the afternoon and into the evening before heading back. Helped me seed the north field (10-acres) with alfalfa, clover, and chicory as a deer/bird food plot. Really glad to get that job done. Not s'posed to be doing anything post-surgery but together we made it work. He also brought me 2k Federal SPs so Sunday was a VERY good day!

A stressful and exhausting day on the old irrigation system.
A blowout somewhere diverting water. Too many locked gates and absentee owners. No access. No fixing. Not enough water getting through. angry people. Many many phone calls. I had to shut off the phone. No can work and blab on the phone at the same time.
Had my first Prairie Rattlesnake encounter of the season. No problem. It partly coiled and slithered away at the same time.

I have people get mad at me for not answering when they call and I have to explain that I am either driving or on a job. When I'm on a job I won't answer a call, the person paying me isn't paying me to set up another job they are paying me to fix their equipment. I always call back when I'm done and a message has been left. I have most of my customers trained to not text me, I shut that feature off on my phone and only use it for pics to help identify a problem before I get there.

A friend of mine roped me into working as an adjunct professor this summer.
They needed a section of Journalism 101, and apparently I'm the best they can come up with. Those poor bastards.

They still teach journalism!? Try to teach them to tell the truth. Oh, they do. About 1/2 of the class is ethics and reliable sources. Once they get into a newspaper or on a network, suddenly the publishers don't care about all that.

Texting is difficult for me on my small flip phone.

Oxymoron? (Modern) journalism + ethics?

Oxymoron? (Modern) journalism + ethics? Whew. I have a lot to say about this, but I'll condense it to this: money is the root problem. If you want fair, unbiased news, look for something not owned by a huge conglomerate company. Those companies do not have truth as a goal: Their only goal is money.

First day off work in over three years and am worried stiff. It looks like it'll take a couple of days to adjust and actually enjoy my vacation.

A guy at work today said:
My wife gets mad at me for spending so much money on car parts. When she gets mad, I get sad. When I get sad, the only thing that lifts my spirits is to buy car parts.
I guess a pad/tad buyer could use that defense.

That's what they say about everything. They say we're going to get wetter and y'all are going to get drier.

Pretty much a full day outdoors, starting with pipe and coffee this morning. It was difficult to get motivated, but started slowly and finished working in the yard at around 3:30. More weeding, mulching, trimming, planting, watering... How did I find time for this when I was working? Well, I find myself being more thorough, taking more breaks, and reminding myself it doesn't all have to be done in one day. When my wife got home from work, we went and bought more flowers - for home and the cemetery. Stopped at Dad's house to take in the garbage cans and pick up summer clothes for him. Sat on the porch with a cigar and watched it drizzle.

At the ENT doctor this morning. I use a CPAP and I can't breathe at all when my nose stops up, which is usually between 1 and 3am.

I'm going to have nasal surgery again on July 5th.

First day back to the office in almost two months after blowing out my hip. Ended up hitting half shots all day trying to protect it while removing some rust. Work in progress, First World problem. 🏌️♂️

I will see your CPAP and raise one Oxygen Concentrator. Set at only 2 liters per minute, it helps!

Take care of that breathing thing, Ron. Breathing is fairly important.
Mom found out she's got a 70% blockage in her carotid artery, and has a 50% chance of having a stroke at any given moment. They have to get a CT Scan before they can do the surgery, apparently. They're trying to accelerate the process as much as possible.

Getting ready to head to the office while puffing away on some Bald Headed Teacher. Thinking Bengal Slices and Night Train should do the trick while at work. 😁
