Sounds like you’re getting our weather Ron. Having said that, I’ll shovel rain then snow any day. Y'all only get 37 inches a year. We got almost that much last month. We average 54 inches a year. I spoke too soon. We’ve just received an unexpected dump of rain. Mother Nature dropped everything including the kitchen! Wow....🌧

A stressful and exhausting day on the old irrigation system. A blowout somewhere diverting water. Too many locked gates and absentee owners. No access. No fixing. Not enough water getting through. angry people. Many many phone calls. I had to shut off the phone. No can work and blab on the phone at the same time. Had my first Prairie Rattlesnake encounter of the season. No problem. It partly coiled and slithered away at the same time. What did people do before cell phones? I have people get mad at me for not answering when they call and I have to explain that I am either driving or on a job. When I'm on a job I won't answer a call, the person paying me isn't paying me to set up another job they are paying me to fix their equipment. I always call back when I'm done and a message has been left. I have most of my customers trained to not text me, I shut that feature off on my phone and only use it for pics to help identify a problem before I get there. I find these days I only text people. I usually get a prompt response to text from someone who won't answer the phone. All my kids are like that as is my wife. Text is also less intrusive. People are just more likely to respond to a text (from someone they know) than answer the phone.

Big temperature swings here in Northern California. 90s a few days ago, 70s next few days and then up to a 100. I wouldn't give a darn about the temperature if it would just rain.

Things are good here weather-wise. Some rain - without being too much. Temperature in the 70's in the morning, raising quickly into the 80's or 90's by noon. Humidity not terrible. No cicadas yet.
I biked 13 miles this morning and Monday morning. Trying to get back into the routine. I'm half out of the mood to cycle anymore. Tried it back in March. Went 3 times, then stopped. It was a bit too cold.

Yearly inventory of a massive facility today and tomorrow. Delivering to warehouses over the years I pitied the fools that had to do that.
Feeling foolish.

I worked for an inventory service for 8 years. The Gulf States Toyota Warehouse was a great experience, as was the hundred year old hardware stores. I don't feel sorry for you at all. 😜🤠👍

Getting hotter here. 80⁰F by 0800. 93⁰F now according to the weather service. Upper 97-101⁰F according to my security cameras. Not sure I trust them. Maybe being up under the eaves, they are hotter?
Took it easy on the bike ride today - 13 miles, average speed 13.2 mph. Lost 2 lbs in just water.
My printer quite working yesterday. No black. Bought a new black ink cartridge, still no black. Tried everything I could, but nothing helped. According to what I found on the internet, it's probably the print head. And the print head can be easily removed and cleaned under the faucet - or soaked in alcohol. Who knew? I'd have cleaned it now and then if I'd known it was so simple. Water didn't work, so soaked in alcohol overnight. Drying now so we'll see.

Spending the day chauffeuring my mom around as she goes from one medical appointment to another. Oh boy........ Well that was a lot of fun. After her last appointment, my mom requested lunch at her favourite Chinese restaurant which is conveniently located two doors down from the lab. Coincidence, I think not. Suffice to say she had it all planned. God I love my mum! LOL......🤣👍

She really digs her Chinese cuisine. My Mom liked Chinese food, too. My Dad, not so much. Every now and then, we'd get carryout, and have to stop at McDonald's for my Dad. He didn't even like watching us eat it.

Coffee and Haunted Bookshop in the backyard to start the day, as usual. Once sufficiently caffeinated, I mowed/trimmed/edged the lawn. Got cleaned up and ate lunch. Called into my virtual retirement sendoff with colleagues in my department. Shared stories and laughs. It was fun. I'll miss those folks. Went to see my Dad, came home and prepped and grilled some chicken for dinner. It was a pretty full day.

Got up at 2:30 on the road by 3:36 drove back up and got the other Power Wagon and drove home was back home by 5:02. Sitting here having my first pipe of the day. On the way home came around a corner and a transfer dump truck was stopped in the road blocking two lanes. Thank the Lord for going up hill and great trailer brakes. I did not have kind words for that driver. Less than 20 miles later drove by a wrecked unloaded logging truck over the back maybe 40 or 50 foot off the road two big wreckers trying too haul it up the bank it stopped 30 or 40 feet from going into Whiskey Town Lake.
