The ones around here look like off duty dregs of society, and overreach their duties. I have never seen people act like that around here regarding a funeral procession.

Houston didn't used to be like that. Keep growing and see. My friends new house is in an area that was all sugar cane for over a hundred years. roofs as far as you can see. No trees. The Houston area that is all built up is 150 miles across. Minimum of 3 hours to drive across the area of very heavy traffic. The more people, the less value each life has. Almost all of the natives have left town.

I'm glad you got back safely, Ron. It's strange to me to hear about all the traffic incidents that you're describing. I'm glad of our 2-lane motorways in Ireland. You sometimes get a mile or two of 3-lanes but that doesn't last long.

Typically day on the west loop: I 45 through downtown : And the infamous Katy Freeway : I left out Highway 290. It's just too horrible to show your innocent eyes.

Back home in Cass County.
That's more like my view too...although it's not MUCH different from Belfast at times either. It's crazy that i can drive into the capital city centre and back out again in the middle of the day within about 5 minutes.

Houston is 10 times the population of Belfast, and the metropolitan area is 7.1 million. When Houston was the size of Belfast, (before I was born), It was a wonderful place to live. I loved growing up there. Around 1990 everything went down the tubes.

I shudder to read about Houston. This is NOT how human beings should live. "Cities" will destroy the planet. Here's a look at a traffic jam in County Kerry... she poem

There is a volcano erupting on La Palma, Canary Islands. We were curious about how often It erupts so I looked it up on Wikipedia. I came across this paragraph that had us laughing our butts off. Do any of you see what we found funny?
"The onset of the eruption was witnessed by a shepherd who was tending his flock of sheep on the flank of the Nambroque (Bonelli-Rubio (1950) is explicit that the shepherd was only tending sheep). He was startled to hear noises emanating from the Duraznero vent and became extremely alarmed when material started being expelled from the vent. In a state of panic he fled the area and sought refuge as far from the vent as he could. "

Well, Iām loading up the living quarters in the horse trailer again today, pulling out of here Tuesday or Wednesday. Fall gathers are mostly done, haying is done, and I have family that needs some help. Heading to Texas, north of Dallas outside of a town called Princeton. Taking 2 horses, and Iām told the horse training field is wide open in the area, I guess weāll see. Probably be there at least through the winter. Better get here soon. The DPS and Border Patrol need help with their cutting horses. They are a great force multiplier.

People complain about the traffic in PHX, when I do local routes the traffic isnāt bad for me.
Travelling in southern and northern Arizona is quite pleasant, I do get on some dicey roads in the reservation lands, but there is no traffic and the people are for the most part respectful of us truckers. I have to lock in all the axles to get through some of the terrainā¦ no cell service so I am on my own.

Hello everyone! Was away on a two week golf holiday with the boys and currently suffering from jet lag and time zone change. My buddy found a wonderful cottage along a lake with no wifi coverage. Have to admit, it was great being completely off the grid for a short time.
