Figgered it out— what Eli needs is a 10YO boy. Plumb tired me out just watching them play. All dogs should have a 10 year old boy.

I love the kids/ dog movies…
Old Yeller Where the red fern grows My dog skip Sandlot
They all remind me of experiences with man’s best friend, and the life lessons learned from life together.

It finally stopped raining after five consecutive days. Think I’ll seize the day by getting outside and welcome the sunshine.

Glad our old gal is like us...we are all retired and we all move kinda slow. We love the old girl and she knows it...she sleeps on my head at night. Sometimes I have to wake her up if she is having a bad "nightmare". Yeah, I think dogs have memories of times when they weren't in a loving home. The ones that were not rescue dogs never had "nightmares"...the ones from shelters, yeah they would kick and cry at night, until I woke them up and then let them go back to sleep. If a dog can recognize their owners from years ago...why not nightmares too?

Another day another $600 for a sewer line repair. I got him to dig a couple of trenches as long as he had his backhoe here. Now I can run the electric lines without 2 weeks of backbreaking work. Also got the step from the front door to the porch enlarged so my wife won't fall off of it.

It’s moving day for my in-laws tomorrow. Did I mention that they bought the house next to mine? Yup… they’ll going to be my new next door neighbours.

Feeling better from Shot City, ran the lawn sweeper, got 4 big bags of pine straw for the wife, cut the lawn, very dusty from construction on road, smoked a big Honking Jamie Garcia Gordo, very good. Tommorow will crank up the big John Deere and do some bushhogging. Watching the Astros now.

Well, if you had kids you'd be welcome to bring 'em here for a deer hunt. Nebraska is very generous with youngster licenses and they are well affordable. On the other hand, if you wanna come yourself I have a dedicated guest room (the Michael Collins Room and it's available at no charge. Guide services included! Thank you for your generosity Bob, much appreciated sir! Yes, Nebraska is indeed God’s country. 👍👍😁😁 Wow that is a really kind offer.

It's fall here in the Sandhills. Typically, we'll get a cold snap, followed by a rain, and then a high wind and suddenly ALL the leaves are gone. Hasn't happened yet, but won't be long now.

Reminds me of my friend when I lived in Waco who defined autumn in Texas as "that day in November when all the leaves turn brown and fall off."

Lovely picture. The leaves are falling off the Sycamore and turning on the sweet gum. Still pretty green overall though.

The dreams I like to see though are when they try to chase something in their sleep. Little legs cycling while they lay on their side running in the dream.

Yeah, I enjoy the personal relations with a rescue...they know you saved them and they appreciate your love.

Our Yorkie has never had a traumatic day except for when we leave without her and she still has nightmares occasionally. Of course we are right there to soothe her.

California is banning trucks. Not this one, I will wager. I had a friend who had a mostly good condition 80s Rolls that he spent about 30 grand on trying to fix everything. He finally gave up and sold it. I drove one once that belonged to my uncle's boss. It was a 60s model and let's just say that it was interesting. Very comfortable though. I'll bet that you can get old Rolls bodies really cheap. My friend bought his for 12k, spent 30k and sold it for 18k. And it only needed "a couple of little things".

In fact, they’re recommending that you purchase your Christmas gifts now as many products/items may not be available once sold out.

My hunter-guests are gone now. It was a great tonic to have them here. The 10YO was a treat, for me, and for the dogs. Eli adored him and he returned the favor. He also liked my Honda dirt-bike and must have put 100 miles on it. Does not have one at home and now his dad is really in for it!
