New countertops, refrigerator, and stove installed today. Got more painting done. Still more to do. The princess is enjoying a out with the girls at Ruth's Chris'. Consequently, I got to order a thoroughly irresponsible dinner (crustless pizza with everything but jalapenos), drank a couple beers, and watched a Smithsonian documentary on Gobeli Tekli. Cool stuff!

The wife has been bugging me to take her to the Phoenix Flea market. I swear that half the native American population from Northern Arizona was there. I saw native Americans wearing clothes from Chinle, Tuba City, Gallup NM, Winslow Az., etc....saw an old code talker there also.
Tribal lands have been under lockdown due to the coronavirus, my brother has been working in Gallup setting up the trial clinics and it sucks...nothing is open but Walmart. On the Tribal lands, curfews are strictly enforced (7PM), so It looks like a lot of them decided to come to the warmer climate and stretch their legs.

I made it over fifty years not caring about house slippers my feet are snugly warm in my new eight dollar open back Dearfoams. If this trend keeps up I might find myself wearing pajamas. Pajamas once tried to kill me in my youth so I avoid them like covid.

I got the new temporary garage 90% set up and a big root was in the middle of the floor. I worked on it for an hour with a maul. It actually felt good while I was doing it, but I bet I pay for it tomorrow.

Mid 50s and sunny here today, but I spent the day inside, working on a personal project.

40 in the gulf coast with clear blue skies. Managed to get all my shots inside me instead of bending hypodermic needles like yesterday. Got some Komodo Dragon going on in the espresso cup made with Chuck Norris water so nobody better stand in my way or they will feel the wraith of my cane with a 45 second burst of Kung Fu fury.

Temperature hovering around the mid 40s (6-8C) and for once the weatherman got it right: rain! Guess it’s true about blind squirrels and nuts. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

The sun is out and could be another decent day. Now I’m totally at a loss. First World problem........

Nice day here. Warmest of the year so far, 77°. Dogs got their run today, six out of 7 this week, thanks to the warmer weather. Jack continues to prefer being driven and I humor him. Y’day Eli found a dead squirrel and brought it to me. He was very proud of himself. Today he went right back to the very spot, I guess hoping to find another one. You’d never find a squirrel corpse that a coyote had taken. This one was a hawk or owl kill, all scooped out inside and left on the ground. Spent part of this glorious day loading 9mm and then shootin’ ‘em up. This Sig 365XL is the cat’s meow and the red-dot sight turns former 4” groups into 1-inchers. Can’t say enough good things about it. One complaint: Way too easy to shoot up a whole bunch of ammo at one time. Watching THE HUNT tonight.

Daughter and son in law are singing the blues about not being able to shoot because of lack of availability of .45 and 9mm. I did an inventory, and I am in good shape so they are getting some for both their birthdays this week. Since the pandemic they are realizing the importance of preparation, when toilet paper shortages started, they were the first to be out, and they shopped daily for the nights meal like they lived in a third world country with no refrigeration.
My wife is the opposite. Being born into a Mormon family she is all about stocking up to the point of ridiculous. But... she was genius when she bought a 1000 round case of 45-70. Even though I don’t have a rifle in that caliber. ( she thought it was .45 ACP.... in hindsight, a great buy.

Planned on the first bike ride of the year but it was only 37⁰F this morning so said the hell with it.
Went to the grocery store for fresh veggies.
Later, met friends at a local brewery for drinks and conversation. Good time.
Watching YouTube on TV - various rock concerts and such.
Great day.

66 degrees F at 7:45 pm in the Rio Grande Valley where we are visiting kids and grandkids for a couple of weeks. Fine smoking weather. The 16 hour drive wasn’t much fun yesterday, but worth it for the visit.

I buy a lot of dry canned food from the "Home Storage" stores myself. And plan to buy more - when they have more in stock. When it comes to prepping, there's no such thing as too much. I was planning for more than a year to spend ~5 thousand on ammunition when my inheritance came through. It's still stalled - more than a year and a half after my mom passed. I shouldn't have waited. I had money of my own. Now there's nothing to buy! (and I have much more than most people do.) Sounds like it would be worth while to buy a rifle in 45-70.

I met a guy that has several presses, is meticulous in reloading, and I have always saved my brass and have little time to reload. We cut a deal...the deal is that the 45-70 is calculated on current pricing for a trade in reloading.
I would like to have a 45-70, but I think that this is the best way to proceed.
