Well, I now have one of these coming to me from tobaccopipes.com Can't wait to give it a try. Do they use the filters? Should I use them? Do they have to be balsa wood? I don't generally mind using filters. Hey, hey! Look at you! Congrats, Kevin. Did you get the sandblast, too? Mine hasn't arrived, yet, but yes, they do take filters. I believe you can use balsa or the 6mm activated charcoal filters, but they're made for Savinelli's balsa filters, of course. I hear mixed reports on the draw with the 6mm charcoal filters. The 9mm ones seem to be fine for most people, but I've seen more about draw issues with the 6mm. I expect to use Savinelli's filters. Yes, I got the sandblast also. The description says 6mm filters. What about just the plain old paper filters?

Worst I can even imagine is the paper swells and gets stuck in there, and you have a bit of a chore getting it out. Use your best judgment, I guess.

Savinelli specifically designed their pipes to only take the balsa inserts or the non-filtered adapter.

Seems like the filters could simply be cut shorter, though, since they're just rolled up paper. I don't know how that would change their effectiveness. I don't know how effective they are in the first place.

I'm not sure what's in it, but I just got a text that FedEx picked up a package scheduled for delivery on 1/31.
I'm no logistics expert, but that seems optimistic.

Placed an order last night with a different tobacconist. SPC Plumcake and Sutliff Vanilla Custard is on the way. Looking forward to delivery as these two blends have been on my watch list for sometime. Two down and many more blends to find and try. The hunt continues!

When I said for it was not to send to them but for what they themselves have shared in what they like to smoke. I should have wrote it better.

Ordered some Low Country Hazelnut. They've been out of stock at SmokingPipes.com for a while, but today I received notice it was back in stock.

Trifecta today. Got my Peterson St. Patrick's Day Prince, a MM Little Devil and a La Rocca Sergio. I threw out what I thought was a low-ball bid on the La Rocca for $20 and ended up winning. List as a Tall Bulldog but has a round shank. No engraved lines at the mid-point of the bowl. The top of the bowl also seems taller than normal for a bulldog. thoughts on the shape?

It's a version of a Rhodesian. A nice one, especially at that price.
