Those are ingenious, a jet flame using a generator like a Coleman stove. There is a new one on eBay for the price of an Old Boy.

They are great lighters...had one way back in the 60's and have no idea what happened to it...but this one is with me constantly and yeah, be careful with the rim of your pipe...it has a great soft flame.

I watched the factory video yesterday and I liked it. I've been looking at them for years and had reservations, but the Mk II is enough improved for me to go for it. You need the Ken Onion version with the Pro attachment. Yeah, that's the one I was thinking about picking up honestly, good for all that finishing work. Handy as a pocket on a shirt. Have had mine a while.

Well, it's neither pipe related, or actually in the mail, but I am excited that my local bowling pro-shop has got my first ball on order for me. A 14lb Roto-Grip Hustle in the Wine Pearl finish. Can't wait!

got a package from Silver today with some WCC Old Dominion, some GLP Blackpoint, Chelsea Morning and Morley's Best. Very exciting. Plus finally placed a snuff order after far too long, so I have that to look forward to sometime in the future ;-)

The Chelsea Morning is rather epiphanic just in a cob! Hope you figure out if you like BHT based on the sample.

Hope you figure out if you like BHT based on the sample. It'll take a few more bowls to get it. Even though the amount of latakia is subtle, its the first component I tasted. Similar to a recent bowl of Morley's Best. I could smell the latakia when I first opened the mailer. This is a condition I've developed over the past year , or so. I find notes of the other components deeper into the smoke. It'll be an interesting study.

She is a bit on the rough side, has a ma deuce and shows up at the sandy shoot every year.

We have old bowling ball we have used when rasing pigs they play with it and helps build front shoulder meat.

Finally caught an unused Beattie. Pretty cool, I love mine. I cannot believe someone hasn’t reverse engineered the design and brought it to market. It does deliver a great flame to the bowl, but I would be hesitant to use it on a pipe that I look upon as a holy grail pipe… the flame can get intense. Great find. But I don't use jet flames on a pipe. scorches the rim if you're not super careful.

Thirty years in and never a burned rim.

Great find. But I don't use jet flames on a pipe. scorches the rim if you're not super careful. I don't use a jet either, but this seems like a softer jet than a propane torch. It's only a jet in name only. It produces a long flame when tilted by pressurizing the air in a brass tube when it's heated. Just think of it as a Zippo with a really long wick.
