Interesting. It looks like it's 14-18 wide. I just haven't seen anything like it.

A few days before leaving to California for a celebration of life ceremony of my sis in law that passed in June, I ordered several tins of the blend in the picture that johnlawitzke heartily endorsed. A few scant hours after I placed the order on discretionary funds, my A/C conked out that was really expensive. Not wanting to charge the tobacco, I requested a cancellation of the sale, this is how JD Cole at The country Squire responded, as I got home today and found it in the mailbox.

Jon David is a real stand up guy. I once had a flaw show up in a pipe after the first smoke which I had bought from him. He bent over backwards and went several extra miles in his efforts to get me a replacement. Enjoy the 50th Anniversary.

No tobacco in the mail. Smoking off of what for me is a lifetime stash. I went crazy for about three years and definitely over-purchased. I should probably sell off a bunch.

Y'day I rec'd the two cobs I ordered from MM. One was their recently announced Emerald. I was dismayed at the poor QC. The Emerald has a rather large "depression" on the outside of the bowl that may soon turn into a hole from the inside. Both had large shards of wood clinging to the stem inside the bowls. These needed to be removed before smoking. Maybe these were "Friday afternoon" pipes. Whatever, MM has gone down a few notches on my tally stick. But... after minor surgery and as expected, they smoke great.

As everyone knows, we can't order tobacco online in Washington so it demands a bit of creativity. Heading to Walla Walla down in the south eastern corner for a wine tasting weekend and when looking at AirBnB options, came up with the idea to pick one south of town that just happens to be just below the border in Oregon. So I am building my online shopping cart and will have the parcel shipped to the AirBnB. With a little heads up I am hoping the host will cooperate.

Not having owned one before, I assumed it was about normal for $5-15.

Reduces the amount of wood that has to burn during the first few bowls.

I would think that there is a network of individuals in place that either make a run to a PO box just across the border, or have friends in other states to forward it on. Rv'ers that are on the road a lot subscribe to mail forwarding services...there are a million ways around the stupidity. Even Kirkland based companies know how to get around idiocy.

I use a torch lighter to burn out the splinters and then let the shank burn away naturally. It would only take a second with a wire wheel before inserting the shank to clear the splinters. I've noticed that the QC is going down at MM myself.

The standard MM cobs used to be pretty good pipes, but these days they seem to be concentrating on the premium pipes and really letting the standards slide. A $30 cob should certainly get more attention that yours seems to have gotten.

I have some Mac Baren HH Rustica on the way (5 tins). I know, I said I would pass. What can I say? I'm curious about it.

That's pretty cool. It's hard to tell what the size is. could you add a pipe for reference? I was expecting something smaller. Wow!
