Just received a pack of 1000 Large Pistol Primers via UPS. A few days ago I got 4 lbs of Ramshot Zip smokeless powder. Never used it before but it looks like I should have been Looks like a good powder for about any pistol caliber. Has a similar burn rate to other powders I use. And 8 lbs of Hodgdon BL-C(2) powder is on it's way. I use it in 308 caliber - and it can be used in 223/5.56.
So maybe this shortage of ammo and reloading components is letting up a bit. Not much, but a little. Really need small pistol primers. I'm done to 1000.

Let us hope. I'm not familiar with Zip. My pistol regulars are Bullseye, Unique, 2400, H-110, and 231. But the fun is "experimenting"! Thanks for the heads-up.

I started out using Accurate Arms #2 (45 cal), #5 (40 cal), #7 (9mm). But now use Titegroup for 45 cal and 9mm. But I've worked up loads using all the Accurate Arms powders above in all the 3 calibers above (and 38 Special) - just so I'd have a recipe if I ran out of my favorite powder for a specific caliber. Used Accurate Arms 2230 for 223/5.56 for a short while, but went to Winchester 748 as my favorite. Use IRM 4895 and BL-C(2) in 308. And I've got a pound of W231. Think I used it in 9mm. On the burn rate chart: Ramshot Zip is #34. AA #2 is #33. W231 is #40. Unique is #45, Titegroup is #18 (pretty hot) I'd like to get a hold of some more Titegroup. Down to 3 lbs.

Yep. Three different online stores. Ouch! Yeah, I thought I'd order to boxes of primers to kind of defray the cost, but there was a limit of 1 box.

I couldn't resist that new Kingston Judge cob, so ordered one. I guess I will give cobs, yet again, another try.

My Dane arrived... The web pic did not do it justice. Nor do mine actually. This is a beautiful Danish-made Nording freehand estate pipe. Hard to tell it has ever been smoked as it looks like a brand new pipe. Big at .88x2.025! (shown next to a Pete House pipe.) Quite happy to have this one, and at $50, delivered, it seems like a nice find. WARNING to smokers of "normal-sized" pipes: the big boys provide a smoke that might cause you to spend less time with the littlers. Just saying...

Good to hear. I've yet to get a Radice that isn't a good smoker. They're becoming my favorite brand. Their shape chart is a little interesting, though. The above, for example, is supposedly a Liverpool.

They do have a distinctive house style. It's not hard to spot a Radice.

Forgot to say: I just find it interesting that they still give them standard shape names.

Vincent Manil Le Petit Robin and La Volute, MacBaren HH Rustica and another cob; Missouri Meerschaum Rory with a swirl blue/green stem. This is my first online tobacco order in two years. I have only been buying from my brick-N-mortar. Curious to try the La Volute and the Rustica.
