Anybody fond of gophers? I put 2k gallons of water down a whole today and nothing ran out. But the lower part of the back yard is a soggy mess. This will delay the new septic system by 3 days. π Shite. You need some C4 explosives and Bill Murray on your side.

Paw (my great grandfather) hated them π€¬ gophers. Because the horses could step in a hole while plowing the field. I can only imagine.

I had a red fox, for a while. Ambushed him outside a den. Grabbed him up and took him home. I guessed he was about 6 or 7 weeks old. Weaned. He never warmed up to me. (Why should he have?) I could walk him on a leash and he had a nice pen to live in. Gave him all the affection and care you would give a pup but he was always a fox. Never even close to a dog. Had a friend that really wanted him, so after he built a pen for him I let him have him, having tried everything to "civilize" him. He got away from my friend's pen a few weeks after he went to live there. A good thing probably. I would never do such a thing again, but I was young and stupid. Foxes belong in the wild. I rescued a baby Crow that fell put of it's nest. It started getting pin feathers, so I knew it could never fly back up into the nest. I felt sorry for the poor bird, and took him home, and stuck him in a cage. He lived in my bedroom. I was 18 years old, and totally oblivious to reality. My plan was to keep the baby Crow until he either flew away after growing feathers, or, better yet, he would sit on my shoulder and talk like a Minah bird....sort of my own personal, "black parrot". Things went downhill fast. The bird was noisy, and hopped around the damn cage all night crapping all over my bedroom rug! I never could get any sleep! It squawked constantly starting at the crack of dawn. I returned the Crow right back into the wild, after two days. The mother Crow was waiting for it. As soon as I released the bird she flew down to greet the fledgling she hatched. The end. Nature always trumps good intentions.

Crows are very intelligent. Some people shoot them for sport. I could never do that. Have too much respect for them Even though I know if I fell asleep in a field theyβd eat my eyes.

You need some C4 explosives and Bill Murray on your side. I planned on shooting into the ground with some 223 FMJ 77gr, until I found out how deep the burrows are. Enough C4 would take the entire top off my hill, house included.

What, you don't think a raccoon smoking a pipe is noteworthy?

You can make one a lot cheaper. Or as the case with a former coworker of mine, him and his neighbors realized that if one bought the unit, like living in an apartment it chases the vermin to your neighbor... for awhile.
They loosely formed a co-op and shared the unit and eradicated the problem.

I've seen some chunky raccoons in my life, but never morbidly obese. I was gonna say that too. I'm one of the country kids that had a pet raccoon for a few years and she was chunky, but wow. Not in a city dumpster have I seen that many raccoons that round!
