Watched a mini-series called "The most dangerous animal" ... true story about a man who looks for his birth parents only to find out his dad was the Zodiac killer. Wow! That must have complicated Father's Day.

Weโre watching The Hatfields & McCoys with Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton tonight. A very rare movie night in the Noel house tonight. Weโre even putting some frozen pizzas in the oven instead of cooking.

Robert, the Bruce.
Made in the UK not long ago. Filmed in Scotland. Starring no one I know.
Well done, human scale story of the Bruce and Scotland's struggle against those tiresome English and their Scottish traitor allies.

"2012"
A CGI extravaganza on the end of the woild as we know it. With plenty of spills, chills, and thrills and spilt popcorn.
Yep, They sure bent, folded, spindled and otherwise mutilated old Mother Earth.
I have the last 15 minutes to get through and see who survives.
Woody Haralson is great at portraying a "Nut" and does so with bravura.
John Cusack makes a decent Indiana Jones type action character. Kind of an everyman with kids, terminally cute kids.
No really interesting female actors.
I give it a 4 out of 5 owing to the pure spectacle of the movie.

Watched HELL OR HIGH WATER. (Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, Ben Foster) Modern Texas Rangers and modern bank robbers, with a twist. A very fine film, one of the best I've watched in a long, long time. Great cast, excellent story, first-rate script and casting. Cinematography fine, too. Bridges is letter-perfect in an Academy Award performance, but what do those idiots know. Plus, he's a very un-PC character so disqualified. I highly recommend this one.

What donโt you want! "That weren't no question!" ANother one of her snappy retorts. She was a fun. I believe about all I could manage with her would have been, "Yes, Mam"

I did make to Culloden. I was surprised how small the battlefield was. Then I remembered the range of old Brown Bess. I was there long enough, seated on the grass, to see the Duke's troops and the Highland Clans and hear the pipes, drums and fifes. One has to be very still and semi-conscious and it all comes back and alive.

I watched Wind River the other day. At first, I thought I didn't like the movie, but then I realized I just don't like Jeremy Renner. I thought the movie was fine.

I agree that it's better than you'd think even if the ending's a little uneven. I really like how they were able to convince you of the futility of law enforcement and general lawlessness in such a remote location. Many modern westerns have a hard time convincing you that law enforcement isn't a giant web and that the individual officer really doesn't have a better choice than to just deal directly with a situation.

Urban folk don't get it. Courts of all sizes have said again and again that LE had NO responsibility to the individual citizen. My county has one main, two-lane road, and the three (about 1100 pop total) towns lie along that road which is at the very bottom of the county. The top 50 miles of the county is remote, to say the least. The county has a sheriff and two deputies. The understood but unpublished (duh!) agreement, from forever, has been 'You take care of it and we'll come get the body.' As a result it is the most peaceful, friendly, safest, help-your-neighbor place you could imagine.

Prior to that there was no government at all except the word of the Ricos.... oh, and Gobernador Manuel Armijo in Santa Fe who could not be bothered coming up into these mountains.

Was watching the different outtakes with the entire cast (except Kevin) he lined up an all star cast and Taylor Sheridan is one hell of a writer. Can't wait for the 4th season to start.
