It is just a collection of scenes strung together around a loose plot.

Love it! Will give the film this: Eli Wallach turned in a great performance. Lee Van Cleef was very good. Clint Eastwood was... Clint Eastwood.

Mate, I love the first. It's an under appreciated scifi classic. Herbert was a genius. In my opinion it would be impossible for the arse wads in Hollyweird to recreate his books in all there glory.

I'm curious about the attempt to make a series out of The Foundation Trilogy. I think it covers 50k years.

But honestly thats what they said about Tolkien's works. Although they are wanting, the movies that is, they are masterpieces in retrospect.

Watching Clint Eastwood in "Hang Em high"...Ben Johnson that was in so many westerns was featured in it. He died in next door Mesa Arizona the same week I moved here.

Never read the book but thought the movie was well done and had some fine actors. I put it all together after a second viewing.

I shudder when I tell you I watched Liam Neilson in The marksman, plausible for a while, but when they burnt the sack full of money I told the wife, this fellow makes his living make movies shooting guns, killing people and when he isn’t making movies he’s a against guns advocate. What a 💩!

What a 💩! The guy is pretty much a scumbag. He admitted that since a friend of his was raped by a black man, he waited outside of pubs hoping a black man would have a row with him so he could kill him. Later on, he lied saying that wasn’t what he meant. When his wife died, he decided within a 9 month period (just in time) to become an American citizen so he wouldn’t have to pay taxes on his wife’s estate. And he now goes on foreign soil to criticize the constitution.

I was kicked off of Facebooks for quoting that movie title. They accused me of inciting violence. 30 day suspension. Be glad reason prevails on this forum! Ben Johnson was made for Westerns starting with John Ford productions, "Captain Tyree...!!!!!" He was in Steve McQueen's last movie which was a kind of Western. He played a County Sheriff with a glass eye, "the one with the gleam of intelligence".

I've found it's best to appreciate the performance and know very little about the "stars" themselves. Many of our favorite actors and singers over the years have turned out to be less than admirable in reality.

Neeson is an excellent actor gone bad. Watch him in MICHAEL COLLINS for a great performance. Then the TAKENs came along and he whored himself out. Ben Johnson was the real deal.

Many of our favorite actors and singers over the years have turned out to be less than admirable in reality. I get what you are saying and respect it, but when they become a proponent of something so intrinsically invaluable in the grand experiment of our representative republic that honors the rights of the individual over the masses, I have no use for that individual. At that point, I do not need to be entertained by them and help to enrich them, which is power to work against what I value.

It's a little like when a politician makes a rousing, uplifting speech but you know he is a lying, hypocritical, power-mad tyrant in the making. Neeson's anti-gun rants make it hard to take him seriously at ANYTHING when every DVD cover and poster for years has shown him with a gun in his paw and the films will show him killing lots and lots of people. To enjoy a performance these days, it is almost always better to know nothing of the actor's opinions. MOONSTRUCK is a fun movie, a good one, but hard for me to watch anymore knowing what an unhinged loonie Cher is.

Many of our favorite actors and singers over the years have turned out to be less than admirable in reality. I pay zero attention to what actors do and say in real life. After all, remember what that Great Producer, Max Bialystok, said about them back in 1967: "Actors are not people. Have you ever eaten with one?" I have known a few and they seemed confused and often overwhelmed by an unscripted world. Actors sometimes are so consumed by their current character they loose themselves. I read the great actor, Fredric March, while making the movie "Inherit the Wind", 1959, became so absorbed by the character of William Jennings Bryant (aka Matthew Harrison Brady), he lost his marbles and could not come back. It took an intervention to restore him to his own identity. That is the price they pay for greatness in their craft.
