Dominican Glory Maduro is one of my favorites but is no long available. Anyone have recommendations for other blends with cigar leaf?

Sansepolcro was pretty good, Big N Burley if you like a mule kick, Key Largo is nice and creamy. Nothing replaces a good cigar though when you're in the mood.

Nothing replaces a good cigar though when you're in the mood. I Agree! I’ve been searching for a pipe mixture that tastes like a cigar for about as long as I’ve been collecting pipes and I have yet to fine one. My favorite Compton’s Cuban Style mixture is gone and I’ve tried blending and pressing my own with leaf from a brick of Cuban floor sweeping or clipped heads that’s ok but in the end nothing comes close to smoking a fine hand rolled cigar!

Man ... I really want a cigar right now! 😁 You always want a cigar right now! I agree, a cigar does not replace the pipe, the pipe does not replace the cigar. I am not saying that is your goal JC...hope you can find a cigar blend that scratches your pipe itch.

You might look into some of the "in-house" blends -- i.e., ones that shops came up with. I was looking at Wilke's site last night. Pretty sure they had a cigar leaf blend, and I know there are others. Just can't remember who. You might check Uhle's, LJ Peretti, and Boswell's.

Key Largo and Big N Burley look interesting. I haven't had any pipe tobacco that had anywhere near the kick of a strong cigar, and I like strong cigars. I smoke a lot of cigars and may be searching for more smoke and flavor volume than a pipe can provide. Hopefully, I'll learn to pull more flavors from pipes as I get more experience. I have some Gawith Brown No 4, which is supposed to had a big kick to it, so I'll try that next. Just got it recently.

I got some Peretti Blend 500, which supposedly has some cigar leaf, but it seamed pretty mild in my first bowl of it.

For full volume and strength, you may want to check out some Dark Fired Kentucky blends rather than cigar leaf.

It's pretty heady, but there are things more towards what in think you're aiming at. Gawith & Hoggarth Brown Irish X Twist is a rope, like the SG No.4, but it's far more stout. In fact, I was smoking some yesterday, and actually had a moment where I picked up some heavy cigar notes. YMMV, but if you can get some the next time there's a G&H drop, it's well worth it.

I'm not necessarily wanting my pipe to taste like a cigar, as much as I want the full flavor. I'll look into these.

If you are so inclined, you could try mixing your own, customized, personal blend(s). Pick your favorite smoking mixture(s) as a "base", and just add some cigar-leaf to it.
Buy some cigar "trimmings" from a shop that hand-rolls cigars, or, buy some cigar-leaf bulk, from tobacco retailers. "Trimmings" contain wrapper, binder, and filler leaf. I ask the hand-roller for a few ounces of trimmings from "mild" cigars. (The truth is I have no idea what kind of trimmings I'm buying).
The rest is easy. Just sprinkle a few grams into your favorite mixture-du-jour....and smoke it.

In my personal opinion, neither we, nor any blender will be able to replicate the flavor of a cigar. It's just not possible considering how much of a cigar's flavor has to do with the roll and the layering effect of the wrapper, binder, and filler.
As long as people wrap their heads around that though, there is a huge opportunity to come up with some great mixtures that can show off some of the specific flavors that a cigar can offer.

I second the Five Brothers and others above. No cigar leaf in these, but they are full.
C&D Night Train, Old Joe Kranz D&R Picayune GH Dark Plug SG 1792, or Lakeland Dark (untopped 1792, I think) Brown Rope/Twist/Bogie from either Gawith And if you dare, Cotton Boll

I've enjoyed Stormfront for years, has enough cigar leaf in it so you notice it,,,,but it's pretty mild and probably not what your looking for.

Not sure if it is still available, but a few years back Spectre did a pipe blend release through P&C. Fairly heavy latakia with enough cigar leaf to notice the flavor, it was damn good. They also had cigars with latakia, also very good.

Also, C&D Grey Ghost has a fair helping of cigar leaf.

C&D made a great cigar leaf blend called Warped: The Haunting. I think it was a limited run, but if you can find it I highly recommend it. It doesn't get the best reviews, but I really like it! FYI, it has no Latakia in it, just cigar leaf and Virginia.

Robert Lewis 123 Mixture has cigar leaf in sufficient quantity it supposedly is the dominant note.

There's a recent thread by haebar offering some blending tobaccos, some of which are seegar leaf, if you are interested in blending your own experiments.
