I hope you get the vaccine soon, Larry.
For what it's worth, the first article referenced above shows 65 and older covid deaths at 2947 out of 3672 total in North Carolina. That's 80%, folks.

Remember too that colds and flu are being coded / testing as positive for Covid. This is why instead of the tens of millions of confirmed flu cases that we typically see each flu season...we're still below 1,000 here in the USA (last time I looked). Those who espouse that it's our "safety measures" (masks, hand washing, etc) that's miraculously keeping flu and colds to almost nothing seem to swallow that explanation as sound reasoning while at the same time we have the massive # of "covid infections" that we've got...despite those measures. The data simply does not add up. I've got family members and friends who are doctors, nurses, NP's, surgical assistants...and the information they've confirmed is VERY interesting indeed. I was diagnosed in my doctors office 2 Mondays ago as having covid. I had a cold, is what I had. I agree with what was said above. Is it real? Yep. But do we have many millions of covid while at the same time...nobody is getting the flu or a cold? I say heck to the no.

I say heck to the no. 4 friends who were hospitalized in the past 2 weeks said they were tested separately for both. One that just got out of the hospital said that she's still having weird (for her) issues that she has never experienced before. Other friends who weren't hospitalized are saying that they feel very different from any flu or cold they had before. Mostly just tired, but other weird symptoms, dreams and such. Thereare other things besides death to be afraid of.

In the FWIW dept. I can’t speak with any authority on all the information and misinformation out there on COVID-19, but I can tell you, from personal experience that you don’t want to contract the virus. I tested positive at the end of Sept. and five days later was life watched to a city hospital where I spent three days in ICU and two days in a regular COVID room with a touch of pneumonia. I’ve pretty much fully recovered except for a continued reduction of my sense of smell and occasional lapse of memory. Talking with my local Doc on a follow-up, he said I might have been just fine in our small hospital, “might” being the operative term. If it had turned really bad, which it quickly can, he wanted me somewhere they could better treat me. His words, “you don’t want to be here if you are really sick with this stuff.” I get my second round of the Moderna vaccine on the 12th. Stay safe out there my friends!

Agreed that the CDC does odd things with numbers in public health matters in general. However anecdotal my experience may be, I've lost two family members and know one friend who was very sick. To me, it's quite real and deadly. I hope we can vaccinate enough folks to create herd immunity ASAP. There are a lot of anti-vaxxers in America, unfortunately.

So, as it's been going, probably summer. I hope you folks have vaccine and a better distribution plan. It's Keystone Kops here.

Everyone should be guided by what they think is best for them and their situation. I am sitting this one out though. If anyone want's to double up, it's on me.

Ours is actually going really well at the minute, provided they can make enough. Sorry to hear about your family members. As a minister, I've pastored quite a few VERY sick people with this virus (thankfully none have died with it), but I'd rather take my chances with the vaccine than with the virus...but as always, that's just MY opinion. There's no judgement on anyone who wants to do something different.

Thanks, LL. Yes, each should follow his or her own conscience in light of the available science.

I had the shot 2 weeks ago, was like a flu shot, no problems. Slightly sore arm for 2 days. Over 50% hospitalized in our county die. Flip you coin.

Mine is the 13th of February. For me, it's the right thing to do. But whichever way you go on this, I just want each of you to stay healthy and safe.
