GLP Windjammer in a Peterson Christmas 2020 B10. Still working. How is that new Windjammer? Really enjoying it. As with any flake, I thoroughly rub it out and dry it for a while, maybe 1/2 hour, at least. Since I can't seem to get my hands on some of the Stokkebye flakes roght now, its filling in quite well. In fact, I'm putting some tins away to age.

Started out the morning with a Bowl of EMP in my vintage Peterson Bent Bulldog with the Military stem and Silver Band. Then it was a bowl of Liz in my 70's Dunhill Zulu with Gold Band, size 5. Later in the day it was some Vintage Syrian in my Abercrombe & Fitch Bent Billiard
This evening it was a bowl of some older PZ in my 62 Dunhill Bent Bulldog.
Now it's a bowl of wonderful RDF in a large Hardcastle Bent Bulldog.

how do you like the Sweet Virginia? I've had my finger on the trigger a few times ,with S.V, but always pull away at the last second... I've only had it twice, from two different samples, but I liked it both times. Last night I realized almost immediately that I had last smoked something sweet in that Dunhill - like Wilke Rum & Maple or Festivus Pudding - so I was planning to try the Sweet VA again today in a cleaner pipe.

April 28th. Rain has set in for the next twenty four hours so that makes it hard to get in a good bowl. Seems no matter what one does the water buildup during a smoke is impressive. Thankfully, the army mounts and spigots were made for this amount of moisture..(moisture? More like a waterfall..) Headed into the last third of the tin of awakened elder/semois mixture and I have to say it helps the flavor to add semois. The "salty" part of the flavor profile is both interesting and problematic. In a single bowl it has merit. Tobaccos are high quality, and the entire blend delivers that flavor bowl after bowl. Yet the brine/salt flavor wears on the palette halfway into a tin. I suppose I should just accept a rainy day at the seashore and smoke the blend all day... Anyhoo, on deck is c&d red carpet with Va. And perque but i doubt it will work well on such a wet day so i am holding back until the storms are over. Hope you all have a great day!

Nice to find another pipe enthusiast with one of Mr. Laug's pipes!. And a dunhill! I almost bought one of the dunhills he had but the castello apple(sc-23) ended up as my choice then. Now I only buy spigots or army mounts but if a dunhill silver spigot billiard ever came up for sale I would move heaven and earth for that beauty! Anyhoo, just wanted to congratulate you on a great antique Dunhill from rebornpipes!

Anyhoo, just wanted to congratulate you on a great antique Dunhill from rebornpipes! Thanks. Steve taught me almost everything I know about restoring pipes - both through his blog and also through email exchanges. He's been very generous sharing his knowledge. The great thing about his site is that he welcomes and encourages others to document their processes and then he posts those as well. I've discovered a lot of new techniques just from that. I have a 1900 Peterson Meerschaum Patent that I will restore 'soon' and probably offer to him for his blog, but quite frankly - I'm not into taking pictures while I work I bought this 1936 because I was looking for a Dunhill in my Dad's birth-year. Turns out Dad was born in 1935 Good thing I love the way it smokes. I also bought a smooth bent briar from him because it was my birth-year, then a Kapruf just because I love Kaprufs Finally...I had a birth-year larger Dunhill with a crack in it. Since I had a few other Dunhills with cracks, I asked Steve to repair this one and document the process so that I could do the other ones. He gladly obliged with extra detail, and also did a fantastic job on the pipe.

I'm mainly an army mount or 'vulcanite to briar' guy, but I do have a few Peterson spigots, and they're sweet.

So Ive been having issues with my garage door, it won’t close. Acts like the safety sensors are being trigger. Checked the alignment. Had both lights. Watched about 200 hours of Youtube videos. No luck. So called a door company. But they only come to my area twice a month. He said your in luck. We will be in your area tomorrow . See you about 10am. So needless to say, i’m staying now until tomorrow. Figured today I’ll treat myself instead of trying to finish something off. So having some Three Nuns, jar date 2017. In a MM General

I opened a new pint of 2014 C&D Three Friars this morning--oh, boy, it smelled good--and have been hitting that all day. I'm now on Pete Hyde Park in a Washington MM, watching a sudden thunderstorm.

C & D Afternoon Delight in a cob. Picked this 3-year old tin up in a tobacco shop in Cleveland last weekend. Its got just enough Latakia in it to make it interesting. Not bad, not sure if its something I'd cellar.
