Why would I be mad at anyone for being demonstrably, so, so wrong? I don't judge. Spankees just swept Boston, so you might be seeing them. Red Sox only have to face Orioles and Gnats and I hope they don't go down without a fight.
My earliest, vague Red Sox memory is my dad taking my brothers to the 1975(?) World Series v. Cincinnati. I didn't realize how rare that was at the time.

Funny, I have seen quite a few Reds games this year. I'm surprised they didn't do better.
Red Sox are killing me.

I just read about Ohtani being pulled from pitching duties the rest of the year. I know it's meaningless but it kind of sucks that he won't reach 10 wins and 100 RBIs.

Ho. Lee. Shite. What did I just watch?? HR Derby? I watched the LAD recap--it looks like it was exciting. It was crazypants. The 4+1 game was 15 years ago against the Padres. Dave Roberts was on that Padres team. The final homer was hit by #5, Nomar Garciaparra. Now we have the 1+4 game against the Padres. Dave Roberts is managing the Dodgers. The final homer was hit by #5, with Nomar Garciaparra calling the game.

What a co-inkydink.
I didn't know Nomar was broadcasting. He's still revered in Boston. Hell of a ballplayer. Hold on, gotta tighten the batting gloves. Again. Ok. Wait, gotta tighten the batting gloves...
Red Sox sucked another egg. Lost again to the darned Orioles. It was embarrassing. Just the last run with the Gnats left.

Nomar fills in on the broadcasts when Orel Hershiser is out, but he's a regular member of the in-studio crew. Another Boston refugee, Tim Neverett, fills in on tv when Joe Davis is out, but normally does radio. Right now, both Joe and Orel are in COVID quarantine, so Tim and Nomar are doing all the broadcasts. Worked out pretty great to have Nomar calling that game. Do get yourselves sorted out to play the Giants, please. Asking for a friend.

Too bad about the quarantine, but cool otherwise. I love those weird things that happen in baseball.

Well, the boys in blue came up a game short. Dang Giants just wouldn't stop winning. Now it's Wainwright and the Cardinals in the Wildcard Game on Wednesday. After that, it's the showdown with said Giants.

Who do you think will take it all?

Who do you think will take it all? Why, the Dodgers, of course. Who else could it possibly be? Actually, the Dodgers lost 2 huge pieces to injury in the last 3 days of the season: Kershaw, and Max Muncy. They're going into the postseason leaking oil. The Rays and Giants probably have the best chances. But, it's the baseball postseason. A team can back into it, get hot, and win the whole thing, as the Nats proved not too long ago, and the Giants in 2014. Baseball has a lot more random in it than other sports. It's more like life in that way.

Heck of a wildcard game tonight between the Dodgers and Cards. Tied 1-1 going to the bottom of the 9th. Two outs on the books. Cody Bellinger, who's hitting .176 in an injury-plagued season, draws a walk. Chris Taylor, who's gone 8 for his last 72 after an All Star first two-thirds of the season, hit a walk-off bomb to end it.
Bring on the Giants!

Whew! That was down to the wire, huh? The walk off homer must have been quite a relief. Mad Max had a shaky start, but it turned out fine.
Red Sox were in control on Monday, making Gerrit Cole get the hook in the third.
Bring on the Rays! I admit I say that with a pinch of dread.

Endings don't get much more dramatic. A runner just beating the throw home, I guess.
Yeah, it sounded like Dugie had a nice game, and Keek made a big play in LF. Nice to see Cole get a beating, too. Good luck against the Rays. I've seen exactly zero of their games, but I know they're the 3rd team I've been hearing about all season as the best teams in baseball.

Sox have seen plenty of Rays and they're tough. They shut out the Sox for game 1. I'm glad BOS made it this far, but realistically, taking three in this series is unlikely. Then again as you mentioned, baseball has so many seen and unseen variables that not much surprises me anymore.
In related news: Trevor Bauer is still an attention hog.

Eovaldi. They just finished with a win 5.5 hours and thirteen innings later. Hell of a game. Kiké is on fire and everyone else is hitting well. The bullpen struggled as they often do, but so did Rays'.
They were supposed to start Pivetta tomorrow, but he just threw four innings tonight. Alex Cora isn't afraid to make bold decisions postseason and it usually works out.
I had to step out for some air and then I'll catch the rest of Stros v White Sox. It's shaping up to be an exciting October!
