On April 1st, there was an announcement, that Wilke Pipe Tobacco has created a new tobacco blend, Peanut Butter & Chocolate. Obviously, someone stated that this might be a April's Fools trick. But today, I can state that this is the best "trick" that I have ever tasted. My wife smelled the pouch and announced it was the best smelling tobacco, that I have ever purchased. I retreated to my garage and smoked a small bowl in a meerschaum and another bowl in a small briar. I could not detect the peanut butter, but that might have been the result of the peanut butter sandwich, before I went to the garage. Also, I rarely can taste the components of the tobacco. The blend had lots of long strands of tobacco. If you like sweet tobacco, you should try this new blend. www.wilkepipetobacco.com/product-page/wilke-peanut-butter-and-chocolate

Mine arrived days ago. Found that my particular batch of both PB and PB & Chocolate needed a good deal of sun-dry time. Once sufficiently dried, these blends tasted, smelled, and smoked like they fell from HEAVEN!!! Jarred them and now can't keep from sticking my nose in just to get another whiff.... soooo gooood!!!! Get ya some!!!

Follow-up on my initial impressions of Wilke's Peanut Butter blends: SENSATIONAL!!! - And for this 40+ year veteran pipe tobacco enthusiast ..ADDICTING!!! But be forwarned - give these blends ample dry time (sponge-to-crisp) for maximum flavor & burn enjoyment. The flavors are definitely as advertised and expertly reviewed at TR. The burn characteristics are out of this world with gobs of creamy billowy one-light-past-char-light cloud blankets (if dried properly) perfect for cold nights and balmy Summer breezes. I'm a damn persnickety S.O.B. picky baccy critique, but these Wilke/ JimInks masterpiece creations top Mt. Everest in my book of books! Smooth, creamy, flavorful, and delicious!

Sorry for the drying time the release on the 2 blends was better then I thought . I like too let the Peanut Butter rest a few day's before sending it out.

I keep coming back to these PB blends.... such pleasant easy smokes with beautiful flavor and room note... can't believe the burn and volume of chewy billowy smoke - outstanding! Thanks to the creators, John and Jim!

Finally got to try Wilkes Peanut Butter and Chocolate. Tried it first in an cob, then in a briar.
The pouch note is great - a nice nutty, buttery aroma. It tastes fairly sweet with a pleasant creamy, nutty flavor. A subtle richness. Very smooth, mellow. No bite. The chocolate is there in the background, but subtle. The smoke is much like the taste and the pouch note - a very nice, rich, nutty, creamy aroma. The moisture was just fine, not too moist, but I tend to like my aromatics a little moist. No trouble keeping it lit. Only a little moisture left in the bowl. A pleasant lingering aroma afterwards.
I love it. An instant favorite. I'll be ordering more - and trying the straight Peanut Butter blend too.

So I just started smoking 1.5 pounds of 6 examples of Wilke blends, on the recommendation of my friend Jiminks.
I've only tried the 515 and 'Rum & Maple' so far, but it's clear that John is one of the great tobacco blenders around, and I can only imagine how great these two blends are that you are discussing in this thread. Unfortunately I placed my order a few days before the Peanut butter & chocolate, and peanut butter blends were released.
515 and R&M are old favorites of anyone who knows Wilke, but I'll add my two cents - The 515 was fantastic but I just smoked the Rum & Maple. Holy Cow - there can't possibly be a rum blend that competes with this one. It's like I'm eating a wonderful piece of moist rum cake with a little maple frosting, while having a great conversation with a good friend in an old book store - very clean, but you can smell the presence of the wonderful old books. Not sure what that is - maybe cardomom/vanilla? In any case, it's perfect.
Can't wait to smoke my way through the other 4 bags.

Can't decide if I'd enjoy this or not. I love peanut butter and chocolate, however.. I prefer a strength that steers me clear of most aromatics.

You're really killing me with these descriptions! lol I surely do not wish to accelerate your death, good right Rev. Dr. Legend Lover. I am merely pointing out the reality that if one blends the two flavors properly, a Reese's blend should result. It is my understanding that these issues are best resolved through scientific research. Sad to say we are not qualified having little or no understanding of such things. They are best left in the hands of experts like Sir Ronv69 and lord trailboss . PS. I hope I am not being too forward or incorrect in my comments.. I see only the wise wizard Gandalf has placed a positive like to my original Reese's tobacco post and became concerned that the proper good right Rev. Dr. Legend Lover might be referring to some other post.

Actually, what I meant was that these descriptions are making me want to try some of this stuff, but alas I can't as it's not available in the UK. The 'killing' referred to my envy and frustration.

I saw the email, and it sounds interesting, but I've got enough tobacco in my cellar to last me until I'm 180...

Smoking some now, I really don't taste peanut butter per se, but I like it just the same, a very nice smooth and aromatic mixture.

Just smoked both and loved both. Can't imagine coming much closer to a peanut butter experience with the PB, or to a PB & Chocolate experience with that blend. A little bit of a delicious toasty toffee flavor also. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

I like them both, but the PB & C is my favorite of the two. Definitely will be keeping it in stock.
