it was a happy and sad day for me. We saw my daughters children after a year and a half, she brought her Mom a Cake Biss Cake, I couldn’t help but think about Larry and him losing his wife, subdued I let my wife visit with her daughter I went on the porch and smoke a good cigar, glad and sad of the day. Tonight writing this I’m in the winter of my life, hoping that I don’t go thru what Larry is going thru any time soon. May your Mothers Day be a good day or a good remembrance of your own .

A very nice and thoughtful post. When we are at this latter stage of our lives— I have another of those damned birthdays coming up!— our thoughts naturally turn to loss. Plains Indians say "only earth and sky last forever." The natural rhythms prevail. But may we ALL be alive this time next year! (Old Irish blessing...)
