I had the great pleasure of smashing an ebay bidder to smithereens and snagging a haul that turned out to be a goldmine. Along with some cool and collectable items i got an untampered tin of McClelland's 40th Anniversary and an ever so slightly dented tin of McClelland's Virginia Woods. The thing is, well, Im a very generous kinda guy and I'm seriously considering on giving them away with some Esoterica blends. What I am at odds with is I also feel like I want to bask in the nominal spoils of my ebay success. You see, I would really like to cash in on the fact that the two tins of McClellands blends are worth a couple of bucks. Intuition tells me that those who are hoarding their tins are going to inadvertently drive down the prices for a short while. At which point they will quickly slide up and up and up. What to do? Surely I could buy myself something or somethings nice. I would like to hear every and all comments regarding your opinions on how I could deal with this dilemma.

If you like Virginia blends, since you got a great deal, I would just smoke them when the itch comes.

I'd say sell them and add something else to your give-away. The money you make will help pay for the shipping to Ireland. I'll PM you my address.

As a matter of fact, I have several of each of those, acquired and put away before McC's closed shop. To me they're like a good aged whiskey. Bring them out on special occasions and sip. These are blends you'll never see again. Flipping them may bring in a few bucks, but takes the pleasure away. At least that's how I feel.

Keep them and enjoy them. I have a tin of 40th Anny and a couple Frogs and a well aged tin of 5100. All were gifts and I do enjoy them knowing they will be hard to replace.

I have some frogs and some St James Woods stacked away. Like you ,I've thought long and hard as to their fate...they have ten or more years on them; I'll likely smoke the F.M.O.T.T., and sell the Woods. Your idea sounds like it'll be fun for all...carry on!
