They need to use pipes and cigar packaging…. Thin walled and it is in decomposition when it hits your mailbox. They always arrive at my house in fine condition.

I have only had a few dented tins, but often the boxes look like they have been to hell and back, and I have seen a lot of nightmare shipments from them online.
On the folded bottom, if they reinforced it with tape, it would make the whole carton more sturdy.

Maybe i'm lucky, but its also possible that your local post office isnt treating packages with care and consideration.

I am worried about all of the packaging waste. I burn a big pile of boxes every week, but the disposable appliances and small packaging, cans, and just trash is going to overwhelm the environment sooner rather than later. Most places don't have recycling because there isn't any profit in it. Products are going to have to have a recycling tax applied at time of purchase. The waste is a big thing for me too. The amount of packaging amazon uses is ridiculous. Boxes within boxes. Except for when I order a felt pork pie hat, they decided that it, of all things, should be shipped in a mailer bag. Took me half an hour over a boiling pot to (mostly) correct the damage.

The search engine on Amazon has gotten worse every year. In the old days, the search turned up exactly what I was looking for. Now it gives me completely unrelated items plus a bunch of "Sponsored" items that aren't related.

They are also becoming a reseller/shipper for other people. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. I usually check to see if an item is sold and/or fulfilled by amazon. If it's not, I usually don't buy it.

Well, you can't stop progress the convenience alone is great the Amazon vehicles are already as rampant as Brown and Fedex there's no turning back - granted, I try to avoid Amazon purchases as much as I can

I remember when the search engines only gave you what you were looking for. The new "improved" algorithms suck.

I agree. In the early days the reviews helped make an informed decision, not so much now.

I don't have a huge problem with Amazon, other than they've been allowed to get too big; sometimes regulation is a good thing. I try to buy locally, but that is a very limited set of goods. Amazon works well for some items. I've found over the last 5 or ten years that buying direct from the manufacturer or distributor is often cheaper than Amazon, and I usually get a better quality product, shipped with better packing that Amazon. Having said all that, the three Old Boy knock-off butane lighters that I bought from Alibaba two years ago, are going strong. They were around $13.00 ea, delivered.
On another note: I don't like that, in part, I've helped fund Jeff Bezo's trip to "space". What an indulgence. There is a reason billionaire's should be taxed at much higher rates.

Intentional or not, I don’t really know.
Beazos rocket surpasses the height Branson’s does. It sounds like a dick measuring contest… especially since Beazos shrunk to the level of transmitting digitally his junk to others.

Mark my words.............you'll all be sorry (or should be) some day that you had any dealings with Amazon. How is that? So far they seem to be the only ones who can get goods ordered to me in one week. Every other vendor takes forever to even process orders let alone have them delivered.

I wonder when the company/site comes along to kind of fill the space Amazon is now leaving unoccupied. With Amazon becoming mainly a site for Chinese pop-up companies, somebody's going to start selling the somewhat more expensive stuff from companies people have, you know, heard of, right? Probably with similar delivery policies. (Amazon's have been slipping, anyway.)
The fact there's a Bed, Bath, and Beyond on every corner doesn't keep Restoration Hardware from turning a profit.

In my town growing up, local clothes merchants pulled your eyes out buying jeans, 5$ a pair, people barely made 50$ a week, those merchants made the Walmart’s, Amazon’s come in and thrive, now they are saying Woe is me, should have treated your customers fair now reap what you sowed.

It's not like all the stuff at the local stores isn't made in China too. That's why we've barely noticed the erosion of the value of the dollar, because we've been suckered by buying more and more from China. Try to buy anything made in America to see what the true value of the dollar is. $45k houses are now $500k. A new truck that cost $3600 in 1973 is $36000 now. Gold was $36 forever and now it's $1800. Thanks to government policies we couldn't afford to live without China. WWeare already slaves to them no matter how much noise we make.
