Just got back from the airport. Sending the wife to Alaska so she can spend time with the kids and grandkids. She'll be gone about 3 weeks. So naturally, I'm sitting in my favorite casino bar having a beer and smoking my Rossi lumberman along with some PS Luxury Navy Flake.

Mad Fiddler Flake in a little Chacom Reybert 930 on the drive to work. I’m pleasantly surprised with this blend, it starts out with hint of dried fruit and finishes like the first light of a cigar with just a touch of the fruitiness left. The name fits. I wish it had come in slices though.

Had some Haunted Bookshop with coffee and a wet basement this morning. Storm flooded the street, overwhelmed the sewer system and backed up into everyone's basements around us. Still on generator, Over 500,000 customers without power in SE Michigan. Now smoking Watch City Slices in the Thursday cob. Time to get cleaning.

Having some P.S. burley 702, in a M.M. Washington. This little guy out shines all my other cobs. Only difference I can see is the unfinished outer surface of the bowl; I'm getting much more flavor this burley than I do in my Diplomats or Country Gentleman.

August 12th. Lordy, how events have been growing in importance
So I opened several tins, all in the work pipes as my good stuff is packed for now. Made it half way through the USS Mason blend but called it early, The burly was forward over the Perique. So I opened tuskeegee airmen and found a wonderful blend which quickly made the reorder list. C&D has the most blends to my liking so having opened many tins as I have to date One is bound to find a few that are not pleasurable.. Then to replace the uss mason I opened easy times (c&d) which is a better burley blend for me so far. Works good in high heat which is a bonus. then plantation Evening (c&d)...yum... anyhoo, the End of the month is very busy so I am sure more tester tins will be opened and I can take all of september to post about them. Just hope I remember them by the next post..lol

Cross Eyed Cricket in the Chacom Reybert.
I think it was Darktater who recommended this. What a wonderful blend. Light with just a note of rum to it. Very creamy blend.

On the back porch smoking a 50/50 mixture of Haunted Bookshop and D&R Rimboche AB in a MM Pride cob. I've been enjoying HB, but wanted to see if I could give it a little kick. This bowl was good, but lost a little too much of the HB in the mix. If I try it again, I think I might adjust the proportions to 2/1 HB/Rimboche.
