The concept of pipe rotation seems to be one of no concrete answer. I've read quite a bit of different arguments for it, but none have really caught my attention as something that makes rotation a hard and fast rule.
That being said, do you rotate your pipes? How long do you go smoking the same pipe? What does your general rotation look like?
I sometimes rotate my pipes, but have no problem smoking the same one for a week straight. I usually rotate my Peterson 120 and Baraccini poker and alternate them each day. I've gone smoking the same pipe for a month straight at a time, never had a problem as long as i'm keeping up with general maintenance.

For me, yes! I’ve got just enough pipes for my many different blends. So depending on what I’m smoking that day my pipes get rotated. Regardless, do what works for you! 😁😁

I wouldn't call what I do a rotation. I tend to grab whatever pipe I feel like smoking each morning, and usually smoke two bowls through that one. Then I get home and (don't be like me) I tend to set them down on an end table in my room where they sit, dirty, until the weekend when I go through and clean all the dirties from the week and put them back on the clean shelf. Sometimes, I'll have a pipe in the evening also, which could be one of the clean ones, or one of the dirty ones. Doesn't help that I'm out of soft pipe cleaners right this minute either, lol.

I make an attempt at “rotation.” I have plenty enough pipes to do that, but the trouble is preference. Lately I have a decided preference for BIG pipes and I have only six that really qualify. Their quality of smoke is so much better than the smaller pipes that I have trouble swapping off them long enough to make for a genuine rotation. I guess I need to train myself back onto the smaller fellers. OR… get more biggies. BTW— I do clean my pipes after each bowl. Overkill? Maybe. But I do it anyway.

I do both. I have a 7-day rotation of cobs, plus several more to go to for whatever reason. I use these for mostly burley-forward blends. My briars get smoked on a more random basis - whichever i feel like at the time. I have some that are for latakia blends, some for flakes and some for whatever I choose to stuff in them.

I rotate like groups of 2,3 or 4 pipes every week or so.

Rotate through most of my pipes, only have about 30+ including several cobs...being retired I clean each pipe after smoking them so they are available clean and fresh each time. Enjoy having a cellar that is wide and deep enough not to worry about tobacco prices anymore. Found to my delight that Shortcut to Mushrooms (no longer available) is pretty close to Penzance (lucky if you can find it). Virginias' bite the hell out of my mouth unless it has at least 5 years age on it...so my McC's 5100 and Cheer are now smoke-able.

The recipe for Shortcut to Mushrooms is reported to be equal parts 5100 and 1Q with a 1/4 part Latakia.

Adding that I clean my pipes right after I smoke them, too.

I put mine on a lazy Susan. It helps with the rotation.

I am too lazy, I just grab a pipe and run.
As a result, all of my pipes got pretty funky, so I spent a few nights cleaning pipes in front of the tv with the wife at the other end of the sofa.

I usually just smoke the only clean pipe available I try to keep 2 clean at all given times would be nice to clean them all and then clean each after every smoke to upkeep the cycle....shucks, too lazy

Yes I do rotate my pipes. For some reason I never liked smoking the same pipe more than once in a given day. I also used to be big on dedicating specific pipes to specific tobaccos but don't practice this approach anymore.

I don't generally smoke a lot. 2 or 3 times a week maybe. Anyway, I have a bunch of pipes, but I don't ever seem to rotate much. I do however run a pipe cleaner through them after I smoke. I hope that's considered cleaning as that is all I know how to do.

Eventually, the stem needs to be removed to sweep a pipe cleaner folded in half into the shank. I do this after every smoke and let the shank dry overnight. This keeps the pipe fresh tasting for the next smoke.

The shank can be like a cesspool of nastiness, resulting in a foul pipe. If you smoke a lot, it may be so incremental that you don’t notice it, but after cleaning, you will be able to realize that the reset, was overdue.

I smoke the same pipe multiple times per day for weeks at a time before switching and disassemble after each smoke to clean them.

Can you just use isopropyl? Many do including myself. Others prefer using a potable alcohol. Some such as SPC use denatured alcohol.
