Can you just use isopropyl? Many do including myself. Others prefer using a potable alcohol. Some such as SPC use denatured alcohol. I'd add as Iso is fine - just make sure you dry it well so that all the alcohol is evaporated seems obvious but some people are in a rush to smoke and don't allow adequate drying - prolonged inhalation of vaporized iso/smoke can't be good

I smoke one blend all day everyday (most the time) and I stopped rotating pipes about a year ago I think. In fact I smoke the same pipe everyday all day with only a brief rest over night. Granted the pipe shows it by darkening of the bowl like a meer but, I run a cleaner through it after every bowl. It's one I made and it's just the right depth and bowl size for me and it's probably one of the best smokers I have, so I'm enjoying it.

I have a few pipes that I regularly smoke, and others that I'll only occasionally smoke. I will typically choose a pipe and blend to smoke, and when done run a cleaner through the stem and wipe out the bowl. Then it goes on the shelf. When I want another smoke, I choose a different pipe and blend. I'd say that on average my regular pipes get at least a 48 hour rest between smokes. I wouldn't say that I intentionally dedicate a certain pipe to a blend, but I do tend to gravitate towards certain pipes for blends.
Every once in a while, I'll dip a pipe cleaner in isopropyl and clean the stem and shank.

You mind posting a photo of it? I'd love to see the pipe makers pipe. I have a similar pipe, except it was made by an amateur and it's not symmetrical on the outside, the shank is offset where it meets the bowl and the draft hole is drilled off center, but it was made for me and was a gift, plus it's one of my best smoking pipes.

I can't believe that the Tugboat/Bulldog isn't sold yet. Too many out there unwilling to break the mold.

I can't believe that the Tugboat/Bulldog isn't sold yet. Too many out there unwilling to break the mold. It's just an unusual shape I decided to see if I could replicate, some that have made it are a little smaller. I'm sure the weight plays a factor but, in the hand it barely feels like 1.5 oz's.
It's one I won't be making again for a long time if at all, way too time consuming to make for me. I'm working on a Bulldog Spigot right now, we'll see how that comes out.
The Tugboat/bulldog is really nice, I love the partial blast. Thank you sir!

Never the same pipe twice in a day for me. I keep my briars for non-aros, a meerschaum and cob for aros.
