Pipe Travel - How Do You Carry?

this is something I need to figure out, working from home it hasn't been much of an issue yet. Looking forward to seeing what folks do

I like that setup Trailboss. Especially the slimmer Maxpedition pack.

I have a leather 'possibles bag,' for muzzle-loader hunting. I fit my pipe stuph in there. In the truck I then take out a coupla pre-loaded pipes, a lighter, the pipe tool and am good to go.

I've got a Stokkebye 4th generation leather roll up tobacco pouch which I carry in my rear pocket and a leather pipe bag that was custom made back in the 40's (not for me) that holds 3 small pipes, a zipper pocket to keep a small pouch in as well as pockets that hold a small block of wood and sheeps head knife for cutting flakes or plugs. The pockets well hold Beattie Jet lighter, pipe cleaners, custom tamper, and whatever else I need.  I find that this particular pipe bag can go wherever I go and is small enough to not be a burden.  The Stokkebye roll-up pouch makes codger stuffing a breeze and I can switch tobaccos easily as I use a small heavy gauge plastic ziplock inside the pouch so I can switch tobaccos easily.  I have 2 small Comoy leather tobacco pouches that I've had since the 60's that also go in the pipe bag.  Pictures of everything except the roll-up pouch below.

Oh, yeah!!! I can vouch for that!  The very reason for the ziplock baggies.

I have a compact Peterson leather zippered pouch that holds 2 pipes, tobacco, lighter, tamper, etc. It really can't be improved upon for my needs.


That said, I really like the simple and classy leather Stokkebye 4th Generation folding tobacco pouches and have been considering getting one for short day trips. The pouch holds several onces of tobacco and slips easily in a blazer or coat pocket. Classy and simple.

I rarely go anywhere anymore but when I traveled for work my Smokin’ Holsters 8/16 Ultimate Pipe Bag (the “Action Pack”) was my travel companion for years. I’ve collected a lot of pipe luggage but my UPB fit the larger Gr6 and larger pipes I enjoy much better than the others.

Wife got me a nice durable pouch from Northwestern Gentlemen and I keep it in a empty Crown Royal bag from getting beat up. Keep my tobacco in jars in my lunch box. Been using the same pipe pouch for a year and a half no problems.

Haven’t spent any money on a convenient pouch or roll yet but I do use the suede bag many of my pipes came if for a longer trip. I’m on a 2500 hundred mile road trip currently and simply filled an empty coffee can with tamper, pipe cleaners, assorted tobaccos and three pipes.

I told you not to store your Tinder selfies on there man...

I've got a pipe bag that I use for overnight trips away from home, otherwise, its a tobacco roll with cleaners,lighter , tamper and pipe in my hand (or mouth, the pipe anyway).

Concealed. In a Sorringowl and Sons roll-up.

Just today ordered a 4th Gen hunter brown pouch. Looks ok in the pic. We’ll see how it works in a week or 2.
