The lable that isett2860 sent says 2017 on it Not quite sure when the cutover was. I saw an interview with Per Jensen of MacBaren's and he said that though they once had a large quantity of Syrian Lat in storage, it was running out several years ago. With Vintage Syrian they actually began substituting the Cyprian for the Syrian in small quantities until after several years they had completed switched over. He said they also made some small changes in the orientals to try and keep the overall flavor the same. He gave no dates. Thank you I did not know that I showed up to the scene way too late but I still have much to be thankful for mainly because of many good folks on this forum for information and several including yourself who sent me samples and full tins. Stonehaven being one of my favorites thanks to you and Dino untill I could buy some for myself. I am grateful to many wonderful people who have helped me in different ways this past almost year that I have been on the forum. Many challenges from work and stressful situations. Charlie one, Charlie two, Walt, Ted, Dino, Jason, Dewayne and Darin to name a few who have been very kind and helpful. Blessings and good heath to all.

I'd check into that further, if it matters to you, regarding the Syrian. As far as my addled brain remembers, Jensen claimed that MB used only Syrian until it ran out, then stopped production of VS altogether. Gypo. I could be mistaken. PS LNF in a straight MM Legend. Bottle of water alongside.

They made a "last call" that it was almost out around that time and would be discontinued. I was out this morning/afternoon on a 3.5 hour hike and brought book and pipe with me. On my way back, I stopped and had some snacks and read a chapter while smoking some GH & Co. Mixture #25 in a no name bent billiard "Made in London England." I rather prefer a mild to just barely English when it comes to latakia, and this blend is excellent in that respect.

Ken Byron's "Plateau of Leng" in the Willard lovat. Bulleit Bourbon, neat. What seemed at my first exposure to be an overwhelming dose of Latakia now seems like just enough.

Nice pipe! Now you need a 1980’s Mercury Merkur XR4Ti to accompany it.

Interesting, Smokingpipes does show Vintage Syrian out of production. The interview with Per Jensen was just a month ago or so. I'll have to relisten to it on Youtube to see if I heard him wrong.

Peter Heinrichs Chateau Henri #8 (English blend) in a Dunhill Group 6 Shell Billiard. Peets coffee at my side. Beautiful day today as the temperatures fall in Northern California.
