“6. Control Alzheimer’s Disease Researches into the ability of nicotine to enhance brain function have been going on for a long time. They follow indications that nicotine could be helpful in reducing the effects of Alzheimer’s. Nicotine is believed to give encouraging results in the improvement of mental functions including attention, vigilance and recognition in persons with Alzheimer’s.”
Joe could use some nicotine, he has a lot of bad days.

When he inevitably steps down for health reasons, someone should gift a pipe to President Harris to stifle that obnoxious laugh whenever she's asked a question...

We're skating very close to the edge of thin ice here (just to mix my metaphors). The thread-train is wobbling on the tracks - let's try to steady it before the thread is completely derailed...

No... the train fell off the tracks and went right through the thin ice. I'm going to say it again... as I have said several times... and am getting tired of saying. Enough with the political injections at every opportunity.
I don't want to be a censor, but I will start deleting threads completely. The mods have better things to do than play hall monitor.

I hear you mods, no more from me. An observation though after living in the UK for a little while. Americans have a lot less to argue about. There's politics, race, and some other stuff that gets people truly fired up.
Here the list is huge! In addition to the above, you have the old Protestant / Catholic divide, unionist / separatist, football clubs (even pubs have "no club colors allowed" signs to try and stop the fights), Brexit, and the list goes on.
It's interesting as an American to just watch and listen. When I get asked my opinion, I say, "Oh, I have no opinion, we don't learn about that stuff back home..."

Interesting . . . thanks Charles for shedding some light on life on the other side Thanks, I think that everything was put here on God's green earth to benefit us. I think that based on the statements in the link on the first post, it would be nice to see academia invest time and money into seeing the benefits of natural remedies for common ailments. But, I think that it is all about "follow the money" instead of what is good for mankind. and tobacco has been the whipping boy and demonized for so long that it is scoffed at by those in the halls of academia and the Pharmacological Industrial complex. I've read and I don't remember where but, nicotine may stop Covid from attaching to certain receptors or the like in the body and keep it from infecting the host. Now that's just what I read somewhere, it may even been here. Sounds like something Charlie may have posted earlier even. My memory keeps failing so please forgive me if I can't give pacifics.

It helps to kick off the morphine I use for pain. I use it and a cup of coffee to get my Meds going when I'm in severe pain too. It works because Nic raises your heart rate as does caffeine so it gets in your system quicker.
Trust me, if I had to jump up and down and run into walls to get it going I would. LOL!

According to Tom Eltang there are no benefits to Nicotine. It's just fun to smoke.
