Does Orlik or Capstan tobaccos have any added flavorings? The wording by them leaves you wondering. When they mention a tasty flavor or close to it, I'm just not sure. Help please. I want to get some for a pure, clean, bright tobacco. But I just want Virginia. Pyre & simple and uncomplicated. Can you folks suggest any Virginia blends with the fore mentioned traits? There is no such thing as pure, undisturbed tobacco. Unless you grow it yourself, air cure it and pack your pipe with it. Even then, mold could take a hold on the leaves. And that's not considering the fact that raw tobacco demands quite an adaptation because it is something to smoke on its own without any kind of processing.
All tobaccos in the industry go through certain processes, including light casings (and the administration of anti-mold agents) to ensure they are not destroying people's tongues and are enjoyable.
This said, Peterson Flake or Mac Baren HH Pure Virginia might be what you're looking for.

According to an interview with Greg Pease, every tobacco produced has at least a casing. Virginias as well. You just need to try different Virginias till you find those that you like. If you want absolutely nothing on your tobaccos you might try some blends that are home grown by some of our fellow Patchers.
