This morning after my smoke, sat down and watched The Price Is Right. Seems the older contestants know the prices better than the younger ones. Maybe it’s because they had to work to buy their💩.

LoL! Seriously It’s probably because younger people are actually out working and not sitting around all day watching TV and thinking about when they actually had a job.

My stepson and nephew work hard long hours for corporate stooges who exploit them.

A third of all adult men under 65 don't work.

A third of all adult men under 65 don't work. I find that hard to believe and would like to see source material for that.

I'd like to say my Grandson is a standup guy and works hard and has integrity but, sadly I can't. Like a lot of young people in his age group all they care about is fun and how they can get out of work.
As far as me knowing the prices of things, I'm not good at it. Probably because I can't afford nor need anything like appliances, boats, bikes, etc. I can tell ya what a pipe would cost or the materials to make one but, that's really about it, oh and groceries.

In Cal there is so much heavy demand in the job market that food service companies can 't get employees cause all the young people are taking permanent career positions with corporations. Corporations can't hold them cause competition is fierce for these resources and companies are poaching by offering twice the salary etc. If 1/3 the adult population under 65 don't work, it's not in California.

There are many job openings in Taos for retail, food service, construction, landscaping, and farming. Many men live off disability, inheritance, insurance settlements, investments, etc. I believe it was an article in Business Magazine about the lack of employees. They laid it out pretty clearly. Also I believe they are counting the drug dealers, professional cat burglars, etc. A lot of meth heads do day labor for cash and that doesn't show up either. This is national. There are the same job openings here. The only day laborer I know gets $200/cash per day.

These were the black sheep of wealthy families who were paid to stay away from the family and the families business. Receiving a monthly check, they would frequent the bars and lounges of San Francisco, New Orleans, Hot Springs Arkansas, Las Vegas. Wherever there was "action" but no accountability.

[Raises hand]
How do I apply for a wealthy family? I'd like to be a remittance woman, please. Or at least a ne'er-do-well.

Remittance also known as trust fund kids?
Scores of them (at least used to) lived in Marin county and SF, and the working staff at restaurants and bars that I used to service couldn’t stand them. Not because of their station in life, or wealth, but because of their elitist attitude and generally treated the staff like they were dirt. Lousy tippers with disruptive behavior, and they came in as a flock making things worse.

I'm consistently surprised by the prices set on American gameshows. I can't imagine most of them are accurate, they just seem too high. Is anyone really paying over a USD 1.50 for a box of macaroni dinner or USD 500 for a non-descript TV?
