They hit the pinnacle in 1968 with Miss Myer's. I cannot remember her first name. I am certain you fellow oldsters remember her.

Playboy is doing whatever they can to make themselves seem relevant in modern culture. They pretty much went down the tubes when online porn for free became available, and Hugh was living in a borrowed house.

It started going downhill when his daughter took it over. (In my opinion)
Was a subscriber for decades (For the articles) but canceled after she took it and the degrading women thing came about and they changed the whole format.
Sorta like girls joining the Boy Scouts.

I have to agree for another reason though. The Raiders/Chargers game on Monday night football had a storm delay because of lightning risk in a covered dome stadium.  I am surprised that they can get on airliners because of the risk of turbulence. |

Sorta like girls joining the Boy Scouts. I had a subscription from 1978 to 2005. For a while all the centerfolds seemed to be all the same - like they were all stamped out of the same mold. No variety. Like they were just following a formula or something. And the articles were lacking compared to the older issues - so I dropped it. I have a collection of them boxed up in my garage. I should probably put them on eBay. I threw away all issues with the modern "square back" binding (~1985) - keeping only the old folded/stapled issues. Of those I am ~34 magazines short of having every issue. |
