Son in Houston came down, wife spent 2 days cooking, vacumn sealing, went to store and bought a basket of snacks, taught him a while ago how to make a pork chop gravy. When he left he left with the chops and the pot she cooked the chops in. Aw well Mom was happy.

At least your youngsters want to cook...most nowadays want it delivered to the doorstep, all cut ,seasoned, and ready to toss in a pan...next they'll want directions on how to eat it.

Cooking is something I love to do. I never tire of cooking...cleaning up afterwards is another thing. Sometimes I feel like burning down the kitchen.

Cooking is something I love to do. I never tire of cooking...cleaning up afterwards is another thing. Sometimes I feel like burning down the kitchen. Since my retirement ,I do most of the cooking around here, but thank goodness my wife is still the queen of cleanup ,and only needs me to stand ready with the dry-towel. As a newly married man, I once told my wife " I don't dry dishes...that's women's work". She opened the window in front of the sink , and began tossing dishes out the window. " what the hell are you doing? " I asked... "you don't dry em...I don't wash em" was her reply. I've been the dry-towel guy for 44 years now.
