Found a cool site that allows you to bypass most paywalls. It's called 12ft ladder. 12ft.io/Go there and enter the URL of the site whose paywall you wish to bypass (the part starting with www), and it will add 12ft.io/ to the front of the URL and you'll bypass the paywall. It works by showing you the Google Crawler cache, because sites don't add their paywall to the crawler. You could manually type 12ft.io/ in front of the www if you wanted, but bookmarking the site is less to remember. |

I hate going to a news article published by a legitimate news source and they insist on my paying for a subscription. I would gladly pay for one view of their article.

I'll have to try that. I subscribe to a couple of news aggregators and when they send me to NYT or WSJ I hit my head on a paywall. This will be great revenge. Many thanks!

I subscribe to the NY Times (the crossword puzzle) and the Taos Tattler. I cannot afford subscriptions with the WSJ, WaPo, Forbes, Economist, Albuquerque Journal, Santa Fe Deceiver or the rest of the newspapers. |

Well now you have a twelve foot ladder for their ten foot paywall, and using one of the primary internet censor's tools against 'em is icing on the cake.

I sometimes use another site, printfriendly.com, to bypass paywalls and create (as the name suggests) printable and PDF versions of web pages, but it doesn't work on everything; not on Medium, for example. So I'm looking forward to trying this out.

If WSJ means Wall Street Journal, I played with it and no, using the Crawler cache doesn't work, sorry.

Tried a couple sites... works on the Post, no luck on WSJ. Oh well, a decent tool even if it doesn't work everywhere. Thanks for sharing.
