I recently picked up some GLP Embarcadero, which is a Virginia/Oriental blend, and I rather enjoy it. That seems to be an unusual combination, though. There are VA\Pers that include some Orientals, and English blends typically have both Virginias and Orientals in them. Brunello Flake is a VA/Burley/Oriental blend.
What about just straight up Virgentals though? What else is out there?

I haven't got a lot of Va experience, a few VA\PERS but no straight Virgentals (had a chuckle at that). More experienced hands will chime in I'm sure, looking forward to it.

C&D Oak Alley is a VaBurPerOr. Orion's Arrow is a VaPerOr. Miskatonic Mixture is VaPerCavOr (I don't like this one).

Huh. I'm trying to think of a Virgental and I don't think I can. In the meantime, Dan Treasures of Ireland Killarney is an excellent VaPerOr with little perique.

Nobody seems to have DTM Killarney. Only one place even lists it.
I have some Orion's Arrow, Pete. It's not quite the same beast. Is the Low Country blend good? I've never tried any of their stuff.

Wondering why your GLP Embarcadero does not show up in this search....

Good question. I'm guessing it's just the glitchiness of TR in general these days. Their database continues to have some fairly serious issues.

Found some Robt. McConnell Mature. I generally like their blends, so may have to give that one a try.

It is hard to go wrong with any of Greg Pease Fog City Series of blends, truly a master blender. One heck of a nice guy to hang out with.

Presbyterian is basically a Virginia/Oriental. I find the Latakia in Presby quite noticeable.

Pretty sure Cairo, Regents Flake and Temple Bar all qualify too.

One of Rambacks by D&R is VaOr--Ramback Gold, i think. I don't know if it's out of print, though.

Yo urb - I like starting the day with Oriental forward light blends. The McClelland Grand Oriental series is that way, though now out of production. Likewise the various Ferndowns. The Chonowitsch series (T-17, etc) have some similarities, and still are around. My favorite current production one is Campanile, and Fox's competitor Robert Lewis offers Orcilla with the same general composition, but I don't like it quite as much.

Straight up blends of just Va with some Ori are rather rare to see. I feel in love with the genre with McC #24. For alternatives to that which tend more towards red Va, I’ve settled on the already mentioned Embarcadero and Bijou.
Even rarer to find are straight up blends of just Va with some (but not a lot) Latakia. As time goes on, I find myself more and more drawn to this style of blend. I got drawn to it by things like McC Rose of Latakia and Paul's Morning Smoke. Both of those had Syrian Latakia. I put McC Frog Morton's Cellar and Rattray's Jocks Mixture in this category even though they have some Cavendish. For an easily found, in production example of this style, I’d point to C&D Yale Mixture.

Watch City Cigar is releasing a batch of Simply VOriental on Friday. It's a VaOr based on Simply Red and prilep. I have not tried it, so I am not giving a recommendation, but Ernie knows what he's doing, so I'm just throwing it out there.
