Those are sharp pipes. Great sandblast, and fishtail stems!

Yep. I would by the set, but I am bidding on Napoleon Bonapartes guns and sword at Rock Island Auctions. I only have to worry about the half dozen guys who can actually afford them.

The contrast stain is gorgeous! And aptly named as ruet means red haired, according to the article.

They go for 187 euros (outside EU). From what I've seen, of course, the actual pipes' sandblasts are not equivalent to the samples shown. Nothing new here, it's just like at McDonalds. The image of the Big Mac and then the Big Mac when you get it. See what I mean? www.smokingpipes.eu/pipes/new/peterson/index.cfm?tag=1036And I spelled the line "Ruet" in my previous post but it's "Rua".

And I agree that they are not nearly as attractive as the sample pics.

Pier appears that all the straight pipes were allocated to the European market.

All, except one, are Rhodesians on SP. There looks like some variation in the depth of sandblast on them. Still nice. Still a little pricey for me.

Checked out the remaining stock on SP EU. Claude’s on the money, they don’t look like much to me (although I left the article pretty excited). Some of those bowls look like somebody took a bite.
I am no hater, but I’ve been around long enough to know what 230 euros gets me.. and it’s not a Peterson.

Ya, on the Smoking Pipes site they are a lot darker, stain is not as cool. And they are all bent Rhodesians. You'd think they could get a better selection being as they own (well, same parent, Laudisi) Peterson pipes.

They must be popular. They're moving pretty fast on SP.

Pier appears that all the straight pipes were allocated to the European market. US SPC had four in stock when they dropped. Those and the XL02s sold out within an hour.

Thanks, Duane.
Pretty much a non-event when the stock is so meager.

Thanks, Duane. Pretty much a non-event when the stock is so meager. Very welcome. A bit small for my liking but man those blasts are pretty!

I received the notice for them the other day. As others have said, the ad got my attention, but when I went to look at the stock, they seem to have fallen a bit short on delivery.

I have given up on Petersen spigot pipes. I just received one that I am sending back. The stem is crooked in the mount, then the mount is crooked in the shank. So 2 sections are crooked.

Wow, that is disappointing. There is no reason that the pipe should have ever left the factory in that shape, especially nowadays where word travels in seconds.

Laudisi doesn't seem to be doing a great job managing that classic old company.

Laudisi doesn't seem to be doing a great job managing that classic old company. That's unfortunate, if predictable. That's not a shot at Laudisi, specifically, but it's becoming a business model all over.
