There was a guy, Christopher from Ontario, who turned out to be a scammer, got everything he could out of us, insulted us and left in a huff. Mrlunting was his handle.

I came very close to marrying a gal from Montreal when I was young. Graduate of McGill. She was much fun and hard as an oak timber. I was not up to the life regimen she would have put me on with the help of her iron bottom family.

I lived two years in Vernon, BC. Does that count? Such a beautiful place! Almost worth giving up some freedom to live there. How did you like it?

My family was from New France, long before Canada was a gleam in daddy's eye.

I was in the Okanagan Valley and it is renowned in Canada for its wines. I'm also a skier and the area has plenty of phenomenal resorts - Big White, Silver Star, Kicking Horse and Revelstoke. And Whistler on the coast. Of course I was there working so only got out on the weekends, but loved every minute of it.

Canadian Thanksgiving, 1970. Lake-of-the-Woods, Ontario. Hunting.

Someone said "Canadians"? Trudeau types have been trying to put an end to most of that.... Though there are other "Free" countries who have pushed things even further with more success...... Like the Kiwis ....
Hmmm Hmmm New Zealand that is:
Sort of...... lol

I wouldn't mind living in Canada. I think, if I was to move somewhere, Canada would certainly be on the list to consider.

At the time I was there there was a chance I would have stayed there for a much longer period (didn't as it turned out); longer than two years. If I had I would certainly have opted for dual citizenship. Not recognized in the US, but good with Canada. Slightly higher tax rate, but not materially more as I discovered. Benefits would have included a Canadian passport. lol

Of course my ancestors have been invading Ireland for hundreds of years. Well, since I already live in Ireland, I figure Canada would be a nice change.
