Yeah, they walked out of the negotiations in the end. We're trying to give them money but haven't convinced them of the idea yet. As a native American I would certainly believe that someone from the government was wanting to give me money ๐ต ๐ค๐ We probably shouldn't have led off by saying, "We're from the government and we're here to help".

GLP Piccadilly in my 1982 Dunhill Root Briar 41241 Panel. I still canโt believe that this pipe does not have a DR rating. Then again, if it did, it would have been too pricey for me. Man, that's a pretty pipe! ๐๐๐ I got really lucky. 360 degrees of that grain. It showed up as an unsmoked estate at Paulโs Pipe Shop a couple years ago. I canโt believe that Dunhill didnโt grade it DR*** or higher. But, like I said earlier, if they had, I wouldnโt own it today. Full set of beauty shots: imgur.com/a/be6As8k

November 18th. Margate in my new bertram 40 canadian. later will be margate in the small bertram canadian with NO number... it has a straight grain on the bowl and is a tobacco saving small size. The 40 bertram is a nice larger pipe than my GBD putting that pipe in the middle of the three. now to light a bowl! Bertram 40.

Good morning, pipers. Sipping coffee and smoking Fribourg & Treyer Cut Blended Plug in a Ben Wade. With Claude missing in action, and Emily apparently sleeping in late, I seem to be the only one here this early. What to say? I am a creature of habit.....

November 19th. My bertrams arrived yesterday and I of course broke them "back" in with some of the excellent esoterica margate I scored at my favorite shop. The floral incense aspect of that blend made it a nice sweet cast for the re-lighting of a restored pipe. The grade40 is a 3x size but short stemmed making it a good clencher but the smaller one is a real treat. Light as a feather but with a decent 2x bowl so this is my strolling pipe for sure. Both pipes fit in well with my current "work" pipes. mostly canadians as the longer stem absorbs heat and allows these pipes to go into arctic conditions without issue..(so far). I attribute the strength to the distance from heat along the stem. the tenon doesnt really go through the classic heat cycle a billiard does with the much shorter stummel. these Bertrams have a shorter total length making them quite easy to clench. anyhoo, now off to find the last two pipes I desire! I missed the rolando negritio standing cavalier on smokingpipes I think.beautiful and functional but at 1500$ there was no way the bride was allowing that... . and the true unicorn. the dunhill silver spigot, with the fancy triple bubble stem. last priced at 1000$.. so another pipe I must find in a garage sale...lol.. hoping the widow Johnson dont know her husbands pipe legacy ..macabre at best so I will just pine for them...lol hope All are well!. I have libations, great tobacco, and some classic canadians to burn it in. may your day be as pleasant!

Well, I eventually ended up reneging on my entire Sutliff bulk 20% order. I really only like the new Sutliff Crumble Kake tinned series, (which, is mostly the direction of Mac Baren ownership as I don't think they would have made tobaccos like this under old management) Edward G Robinson, and Mixture 79 (for it's classic-codger anise/vanilla/whiskey burley profile) and can never find any redeeming quality to anything else they make. It's majority black cavendish blends gooped in PG and flavored. The harder you look, it's like 50 blends of the same exact tobacco sold with flavor. It's overall, a serious TAD addiction issue for me. I have to regroup again to only stock up the blends I actually like and stop trying to give space for mediocre blends in my cellar just because they're on sale. Truth be told, there are about 25 solid blends that I'd rather have 20 pounds of each and forget the rest but I always cave to the addiction of hoarding up more for the tobacco apocalypse. So next I'll be smoking 2021 C&D Carolina Red Flake w/ Perique in a BBB Own Make Thorneycroft blasted zulu.

After my last bowl of Carolina Red Flake w/ Perique, I've decided on a really nice cigar for my Friday evening. I'm going with a Perdomo double aged 12 year vintage Connecticut Churchill.
