Decided to give Pegasus one more try. This time in the MM Legend with a 6mm charcoal filter. This combo seems to have toned down some of the harshness I was getting from it earlier, although I can still feel it wanting to bite. Not a bad smoke, but definitely not a repurchase. As usual a hot cup of coffee to pair. Jar it and set it aside for a few months and revisit. To my personal taste, I find Pegasus to be harsh fresh. However, after about six months, the harshness tones down and it’s a tasty smoke.

Man what a beautiful day.
My neighbor texted me this morning, had a tee time for 12:30. Quick look at the weather app on the phone and it showed mid 60's and sunny skies, no wind.
I know, I know, a real dilemma right? ;-)
So, we tee'd em up, had great round, met a couple of other members that we'd not known until today. All 4 of us were cigar smokers, so it was a very enjoyable round.
Got home, fed the puppy, Blondie's outta town till 6, so looks like I have time for a quick smoke.
MM965 in the Hercules, hot Earl Grey in the mug, life is good.
cheers

I just tried Lane 1Q. Uuuuuuuuugh. I was going to give it to my 2 year old granddaughter, but the wife insists she is too young to smoke.

Thank you, I wish it could talk. It would be cool to know the history of the former guardians of the pipe. It smokes well, but with the cant of the drilling and the narrowness, the only way to clean the carbonized drafthole (usually annualy) is with flame and lungs. Not bad but it is sort of a flashback of cooking the resin from the pipe when times were lean.

Yeah, the tin's been empty for some years. Just a photo prop now. Used this and a similar vintage Nightcap tin to photograph most of my British pipes. On topic, I'm smoking Haunted Bookshop in a MM Great Dane Spindle. The Edgeworth Slices and Balkan Sobranie cigarette tins are also empty.

Finished the day, earlier, with some Peretti London Flake. Only bought an ounce of this VA/Per, months ago. Wouldn't mind adding some more.
BTW, a note on that McCranie's Red Stag I mentioned earlier. When I first got it, I said I didn't get any of the vinegar smell I'd seen mentioned elsewhere. Well, it was also a bit dry when I got it. It's been in its jar with a humidifier for a few weeks. Now I get the vinegar, most definitely.

Thanks. I jarred it on 7/7 so it has a few months on it now. It probably contributed to some of the mellowing I'm getting compared to when I smoked it fresh. I'll give it a bit more time before trying it again.
Currently smoking some Haunted Bookshop in the Nording signature freehand. Hot cup of coffee on this warm but rainy day.
