Wow. How things have changed since the days of Bolexes and Arriflexes. If you have any interest in that sort of stuff take a look at this thing...
Amazing instrument. No price yet, but you would prolly have to pawn your Rolls. Prime lenses for it are in the neighborhood of $30k.
Scenes for theatrical films are currently being shot with high-end cine-capable SLR digitals in the $2-4k range— cameras some of us may already own. This Sony is going to make a lot of changes in how things get done.

I remember 30 years ago Sony came out with a digital camera that made high resolution color separations. It was the death knell for my job in printing as a process cameraman.

Technicolor is gone forever, unless it records in Betamax format.

I still have a Bolex Rex V and tripod stored in my loft.
Used my friends Arri "M" many times in production of 16mm news reels and short films.
Then came Video production which I never liked nor learned being an inflexible purist.
So, I "retired" and did something else with my life.

iMax images from a medium format video camera would be spectacular— but I'd hate to have to pay for the memory array to capture them!
