Fast acting, with 12 minutes I am in bed.
Slept for 2.50 hours then woke. Up for hours. Certainly in a relaxed frame of mind. But, awake.

People do tend to sleep less as they age. Wish I had better news. OTOH, my folks are older than you, and they sleep like logs. Have you tried melatonin? I feel like it's a dumb question, because you almost certainly have. I found some 10mg that helps a bit.

Actually I'm sleeping quite well - even when the pain in my tooth was at its worst. And after further research, I can't get those here. Unisom & Nature's Bounty Sleep 3 taken together, for me, takes about 1-2 hours to doze off while watching tv... I usually wake up about 4-5 hours later to relieve myself and then easily/quickly resume my sleep in dreamland for another few hours. No drowsiness.

Cannabidiol synergizes with tetrahydracannabinol and to be effective should be taken in a 1:1 ratio. If only taking CBD, you should still take at least 10-20mg of THC, and 500mg of CBD. All the garbage over the counter CBD sold everywhere now is a scam. CBD __does__ work but not in 10-50mg increments whatsoever on it's own. Cannabinoids work in a pathway of CBG, CBN, CBD, THCA, THCV, etc. and are far less effective taken on their own. If you're trying to find legal THC in all states, Delta 8-THC, Delta-10 THC, and Delta-6a10a are all federally legal in the United States under the Farm Bill that legalized hemp. THC-O acetate has always been unscheduled and is also now available and derived from hemp. I suggest you stay well clear of THC-O acetate though, it's about 4x more potent than regular delta-9 THC. Check out 3Chi (brand) if interested in the Delta 8 stuff. There's gummies and all sorts of tinctures and candies but be very well forewarned that 25mg in a gummy will get you high as a kite for 6+ hours with no way out of it once it kicks in!
The different deltas are what are known as isomers in chemistry. They have a different arrangement of carbons in the bond. Same molecule.

Oh my mistake, you actually did ask about what the delta meant not about isomers. Delta represents ionic charge. Isomerized Delta-8 is more stable than delta-9.
