Got me one of those iPad Pro thingies. Series 3 (latest). 512Gb storage. Pretty incredible machine. Faster than my MacBook Pro and way more compact. Pad can go stand-alone or in tandem with their Magic Keyboard into which it folds. 10-12 hour battery. I would have given a pretty penny for this thing when I was on a plane to the Ould Sod three times a year.

Initially I thought you might have had an accident - good to see it's just a new tablet. The keyboard will be a great help. I hate the software one on the ipad.

Software on the new iPads pretty good, but it’s not yet up to the latest super-powered Pads. That will change.

I hate all software keyboards. I need tactile feedback. /oldManYellsAtCloud I'm with you on this too. I have been unable to find happiness with iPad on-board keyboards. Too hinky for a decent work experience. The so-called “Magic Keyboard” (with track-pad) is quite good with a crisp, accurate feel. Incidentally, I was surprised by the weight of this gizmo. 38 ounces. One ounce shy of an unloaded 1911. Feels really dense and substantial, which I guess it should.

I haven't tried the iPad yet, but I have used the Microsoft Surface with the high end keyboard and it's really great. They have come a long way if you are willing to spend a little more.

And by the way, I have an iClever folding kb for the iPhone (and iPads). Very nice little traveler about the size of a 5-pack of Swisher Sweets. Extremely well made and very affordable.

One other quick note… Laptops aren’t really good in the lap, for me at least. This one is perfect.
