I think I got as many badges on SP.com as I ever did in Boy Scouts. I just checked mine for giggles. Gosh. I'm shocked and maybe a little embarrassed. If your status is blushworthy, and you didn't get one, it must have been some kind of random selection. |

I have a paltry 9 badges from SP, but they are far from being my go-to source. I have bought most of my tobaccos from Pipes and cigars… they owe me a CTS Blackwing.

Charlie, yes although these days I mostly purchase from SmokingPipes, the first few years I did a lot of buying from P&C until I had a few mishaps, shipping issues, etc that somewhat pushed me to mostly buy from SP. Also have bought from tobaccopipes, and Mars, Pipeguys, Tophat distributors, KBV, Pipestud, pipe shows, and my local B&M plenty.
Admittedly I really dislike P&C's website design and it's also a huge sticking point for me.

I hear you, and I have also bought from many of the same sources as you. In my experience with P&C though, I received maybe two dented tins with no compromised seals…. Other than that, I have never had any problems that have plagued others.
For me, they have provided stellar service with great prices.
As for the new website, it really is not a concern to me… if something strikes my fancy, I have no problem navigating the site. But, I find myself supporting my local B&M more than anything. I really do not need anything, just trying to buy locally and support my tobacconist.

The Chicago Pipe Show 2019 badge is a bit unique. It showed up after I bought a pipe in the Smoking Pipes suite at the Chicago Show in 2019. The badge was new that year. (I had bought a pipe from them at the 2018 show and didn’t get a badge.)
I do not understand the Stockpiler badge as the gold description is “You have bought more than 200 of one pipe tobacco.” The only thing I can figure out is they mean one pipe tobacco brand as I have never bought 200 tins or 200 bulk ounces of just one blend from them.
@zach - I will admit that I was surprised to see that you’re only UPS Freeloader Silver.

FWIW, I have achieved stockpiler status, but it say 100 tins for a silverhaired guy..
And a freeloader silver, I typically never buy unless the order results in free shipping...cheapskate.

Yeah I guess I had too many smaller orders before a few years ago. Definitely too many times I've only wanted to spend like $60-80 with shipping and loads of orders in that range where I bought only a few tins, or a couple tins and a couple 1 oz samples. From my count though it seems like I'm actually an order or three away from UPS Freeloader gold, lol. You know Regal's here and how it's easy to run in and pick out a few tins, I'm sure that accounts for many more buys than I can count. Stopping by the smoking lounge right after work and smoking with Tony and Rich, or smoking and talking with Frank downtown.
I take it that the Stockpiler badge must mean $200 or more of one tobacco.
I hope we can have Chicagoland next year.
