Some Peretti BPC in a bent billiard meer. Earlier, I enjoyed some Peretti no. 52 in the lattice billiard meer. It is predicted to be hovering around zero degrees Fahrenheit tomorrow with wind chills in the -15 range. Pulled a few more logs in for the evening to keep the wood stove fed.

I just finished my first bowl of Haebar's home blend Navy Cake, 2017 edition in my nose warmer pot. Love the tin note, The smoke was heavier than I expected but pleasant. It will likely be a regular in my line up, at least till I run out

Better keep the brass monkeys in, tonight! (I have no idea what that means. It's a Henry Blake line from "MASH" that stuck with me for some reason.) Nothing for me. Too busy with work after being off Thurs. and Fri. to play swamp creature.

I have not heard that one. A quick search found this:
"(British English, slang) used in various phrases to refer to extremely cold weather.
...<snip>...
The full expression is ‘cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey’, although this is not often used. It may refer to a brass rack called a monkey which was used to store cannonballs. When it was very cold, the brass contracted (= got smaller) and the balls fell off."

Worked from home today (mancave), so started out this morning with some EMP with my pot of Black Coffee. Throughout the day had some Liz, Magnum Opus, and Balkan Reserve.
Then decided to open a few tins that I haven't tried yet. (was talkin with Ted on the Patch Chat lastnight, when he asked me how many blends I have in the cellar that I haven't tried yet. Truth is that there are at least 200 blends on the shelves that I have no idea how they taste.
So, this afternoon I've popped open a tin of Nat Shermans 536... Not bad. Then an older tin of Dunhill Standard Mixture Medium... More full bodied than I was expecting, but good nonetheless. Finally now trying my first ever bowl of Three Nuns from 2011... Very pleasant.
cheers

That last part sounds like very wishful thinking on some polite person's part. I'd bet "freeze the balls off a brass monkey" means just what it sounds like.

Had an odd concidence IM'ing with my boss just a few minutes ago. He was asking me about my water situation, and I was telling him I spent a lot of time moving furniture and heavy rugs around on Fri.
Then he asked, "Did you have a pipe break?"
My brain was all, "No, I didn't take time, but how does he know I smoke a pipe??" Took me a good couple minutes to figure out what he meant.
English. What a language.

What a language. Heh. My boss would actually be asking about my smoking pipe. He’s a cigar guy. During our one-on-one video meetings, it’s common for us to compare what we’re each smoking during the meeting. 😀 Smoking is also acceptable during our team video meetings.
