Had an odd concidence IM'ing with my boss just a few minutes ago. He was asking me about my water situation, and I was telling him I spent a lot of time moving furniture and heavy rugs around on Fri. Then he asked, "Did you have a pipe break?" My brain was all, "No, I didn't take time, but how does he know I smoke a pipe??" Took me a good couple minutes to figure out what he meant. English. What a language. He's probably still scratching his head about that one. 😁🤠

Happy Monday. Ersatz Edgeworth in a MM Pride. The Sutliff Edgeworth Ready Rubbed MATCH blend is likely the best match blend on the market in it's closeness, and I'm also in the camp that agrees it's at least equal to or better than Lane's original. Since it's been a while since I've smoked both back to back, why not? I used to get a bit more of a "baked goods" thing going on from the match and more of an acrid, deeper burning molasses from the original.
2006 Lane's Edgeworth Ready Rubbed in a new MM Morganton Caroler Limited Edition 2021 Christmas cob.
Yes, the Sutliff ERR Match is it for me, but I have a tub of Lane for emergencies. I keep seeing LJP Cuban Mix, so I have some loaded in a Legend.

How is that Cuban Mixture? I've heard good reviews on it but not tried anything from Peretti.

How is that Cuban Mixture? I've heard good reviews on it but not tried anything from Peretti. I like it. It's got the kitchen sink, but no one thing dominates the blend. I'm no reviewer but it gets my three thumbs of approval. Get some Peretti's. Disclaimer: they supposedly used some McClelland Virginia's, which wouldn't be the case anymore and I haven't purchased from them in years. They do burley very well, though.

Blend of seven different tobaccos, first produced in the 19th century by L.J. himself. Name might be a little misleading. I don't get any cigar leaf, Cuban or otherwise. Solid burley blend.

I can find the cigar leaf in there, but it's pretty seamless with the rest.

Kentucky Club Continental in a little ole smooth pot from Hickok. I don't know why this blend didn't stand the test of time; for me, everything about it spells classic codger blend. Just a nice C.H. softness with the faintest hint of coconut now and then.

Count me as another thumbs up for Cuban Mixture. I've also tried several of their flake tobaccos, and enjoyed them. Boston Slices, Cambridge Flake, #8 Flake, can't remember the other one at the moment.
