George Dickel Number 12, 90 proof. Very satisfyingly put to me. Could use a twist of lemon.

You must have one helluva liquor store Seems to be a pretty decent one, yeah. I've occasionally been surprised by what they didn't have, but not nearly as often as I've been surprised by what they do have. I was thinking you were ordering online at this point. I've got some nice liquor stores in town, others with diddly-squat but it's been years since I've really browsed for nice and higher end stuff. Never even heard of Drumshanbo.

Never even heard of Drumshanbo. I still do mostly shop online, but it's this store's site. When I get there I go in and have a quick wander to see what's not on the site. Drumshanbo was one of those, which I'd never heard of, either. It's good. If I can get it, I'll restock when this bottle is dry.

Dickel is GREAT, regardless of your former boss. Their rye is one of the best, in my experience.

The last of the 1792.
But I bought a couple new bottles today. Angle's Envy Rye, and Woodford Reserve Straight Wheat Whiskey.

Dickel is GREAT, regardless of your former boss. Their rye is one of the best, in my experience. I have been partial to George Dickel since I first tried it in 1970. The Number 12 is preferable to the Number 9, slightly higher proof. Dickel 12 has a slight citrus flavor element I enjoy. Their Rye is also very good. Owned by Diageo PLC, a British distiller of some repute.

Had my son and daughter-in-law over tonight. Opened a bottle of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked and a bottle of Angel's Envy Finished Rye. The Angel's Envy Rye was the clear favorite of the two.

That Double Oaked wasn't a favorite with me right away, either. But it grew on me in a big way as I drained the bottle.

Cracked my bottle of Macallan 20 for the obligatory "semester is over" drink. A Boswell pipe stuffed with Stonehaven to go along with it.
