Started out with a John Lee Hooker record. Now just letting the algorithm select similar material. Currently a Robert Cray tune.

Robert Cray… it is amazing that he never seemed to get the nototoriety he deserved, vocally, guitar playing, music arrangements, etc… the guy is a blues master if there ever is one.

Dead stuff. Currently a personal favorite: Nassau Coliseum, 3 29, 1990. Released as Wake up to Find Out. Or streaming SBD here. I was not in attendance there, but I did see Robert Cray around 89 or 90. Chronology is not my forte. One of the most beautiful moments in Grateful Dead history, "Eyes" with Branford Marsalis 3 29, 1990, is here:

Cray was the opening act for the first concert I ever went to. Believe it was his "Strong Persuader" tour. John Lee, yeah, needs no introduction.

Opiate, eh? I'll see that with Morphine, "Cure for Pain" and Velvet Underground, "Heroin" and raise you moe., "Opium." I think Tool was aiming for the Marx metaphor, haha, but I'll still plug moe., especially with Mr. Warren Haynes.

They also have Rosetta Stoned, Die Eier Von Satan (harsh sounds with the recipe for Turkish hashish cookies being read in "stern" German, for effect UND KEINE EIER! "and no eggs!") and of course, Third Eye. Third Eye starts with a snippet of Bill Hicks.

Having a high energy evening and listening to Prodigy. When this classic came on (I'm listening to The Fat of the Land on CD) I thought "Pipe smoking anthem, badass version"

Oh I forgot, don't watch this video if you are seizure prone. You will have a seizure. Many have.

No seizure, but fond memories of drugs. I had some Everly Brothers for breakfast and then it's been Dead shows since--a 74 and now an 89.

Rory Gallagher, Rory Gallagher. I looked for a video, not expecting to find this FX masterpiece. It's like you're there!
