We'll probably be seeing gourmet Vienna sausages on the menus soon. that is something I have not eaten in years and years. Every now and then I find an old can in a pasture and know some hungry Hand ate in that spot. The last ones I had were kind of mushy - but they were a couple years past their "best by" date.

Grilled ribeye over mesquite coals, grilled yellow and green squash. Much better than icky, mushy Vienna sausage. Whenever I get Vienna sausages, I do so at major stores and they have the “snap” to them. Best to pass on at dollar/ dollar general and/ or not rotate in the pantry.

I get what you are saying. Sometimes a restaurant product can rate 5 stars, but I grew up eating canned corned beef hash, so it is what I like. We'll probably be seeing gourmet Vienna sausages on the menus soon. Impossible! Not the part about being on a menu.

Another omelet of Green chilies and cheese. Could be habit forming. I bypassed purchasing Hatch chiles and having them roasted this year, as I still have plenty from last year, hopefully another year in the freezer doesn’t degrade them. At the local food city where I buy them at harvest time they have mild, medium, hot, x-tra hot. With the eye, they all look the same, I was wondering if specific plots are designated for particular heat levels?

after snoozie, Zweigles skin-on white dog on the small G.Foreman, 8mins. Have a windup timer on top of stove, 8mins. On two slices AlCohen rye, butter one side, one slice of Am cheese, no can use any "normal" condiments, fine for many yrs. for later after news, Jeopardy repeat, store brand tea & cookies for company.

I'm hoping for the Frog Morton Cellar of Vienna sausages! 😁 🤠

The last few years in New Mexico anything with chilis on it has been either very hot, extremely hot, or "you got to be f'n kidding me you dirty SOB.

Boneless beef rib roast in oven. small one and from the Green Meat section. Otherwise I would not purchase a roast without bones. Surrounded by red potatoes, sliced turnip and carrots ni an iron roaster. Seasoned with a nice herb and spice mix.
Might make a pan of Yorkshire Puddings. If I am up to it!
A nice sour cream, horseradish dressing at the ready.
MIght open a bottle of nice Portuguese wine.
What is the occasion? October 1! Why is that important? I feel this way about it.

Costco all beef 1/4 pound dinner franks on Francisco buns with all the good stuff, Chile con Carne from RC Provision.
Decided to do oven fries since we had some russets in the house, followed the directions from the America's Test Kitchen (PBS) cookbook and they were awesome. The recipes from that book are always excellent, they have a large staff that tries every way to make a recipe and distill it down to the best. My grandkids said that I am the GOAT of French fryers, and I fried nothing. That is a great endorsement.

Lunch was a bowl of my own soup which has settled out largely as a Minestrone of meat, veges, beans, potatoes, turnips, tomatoes, peppers. cold roast beef sandwich with Provolone Cheese and French DIjon Mustard from Trader Joes on whole wheat toast.
Now it is nap time this cool, dark and drizzly day.

Homemade chili. Read it too often here recently. Nonsense! There are a lot of variations on chili, it is a great dish. Only when you make a huge pot, and you eat it for the next 4 days…. 4 days of anything gets old.
