Large baked potatoes all around the table tonight, topped with piping hot broccoli & cheese soup...with turkey day just around the corner, we figured a meatless meal might work fine...and we were correct!

My Contribution to tomorrow's Thanksgiving repast is the Green Bean Casserole. I have the fresh green beans, the mushrooms, the sliced almonds. All I have to do is put it together.

sipping homemade chicken broth.
No appetite again. Slight nausea.
Perhaps this is not a medical condition but a philosophical position. Like Sartre wrote about?

So what does a lone cook/diner do for the midday meal on Thanksgiving day? He transgresses with a perfidy— heretical tacos! No turkey for me. Instead, a new (to me anyway) twist on an old favorite. I chopped lean, slow cooked venison roast and skilleted it with copious dollops of Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce on my favorite 11” square, sideless, TFal do-everything skillet. Then applied the result to a trio of La Tiara yellow corn taco shells. Amazingly thin yet strong, these are new to me. Their upside is that that their thinness, unlike Old El Paso shells, does not require that they be placed, filled, in the oven. The hot filling heats them well and quickly. They were delicious! No cheese, no salsa, no sauce but the SBR sauce, and they were scrumptious. I’ll do this again with no need to wait for next Thanksgiving. Maybe even tonight!

Home from big feed, funzies & f.ball #1 with the gals. Cleanup done there, nap time alone, then leftover ham/turkey slices, cheese, re-heated after needed snoozie. With 3rd game, store brand tea & cookies.
Well stuffed Ed covers well, hope all had a great foodie day!

That only dad part about visiting someone else's home for Thanksgiving is no leftover. I used to really like that Friday Lunch and then a sandwich or two.
Given how my appetite has faded, I probably would have fed it all to the dog, anyway.
