Had a toasted Jalapeño bacon burger and fries at BJ’s Brewhouse, Iced tea for lunch. Joe’s farm grill for dinner, jumbo shrimp dinner with a garden salad, Rhubarb pie for dessert. I do not know how you do it! I managed a couple of eggs and potatoes for breakfast and an artichoke for dinner. Other people cooking. Back to the workday diet tomorrow… I don’t eat much at work, make up for it at home.

Just received word from a reliable source that yet a new food cart has opened on the Paseo (Main Street) in Taos. This is a Greek Gyro wagon. Open Thursday through Sunday! 11:00 to 6:00.
It might be that food carts are Taos best option since it is so hard to find employees for a sit down restaurant. Rents are ridiculously high. More sit down joints are closing.

There is no substitute for enjoying a leisurely night at a great restaurant, memories that last a lifetime. We are regressing when it comes to the point that a night out is at a food wagon. Stuffed bell peppers, green chile and 3 salad night.

Too often it has been Wendy's or Subway as nothing else is open. I can recall when every place in town was closed, even the above. No food and no workers. I ended up buying sandwich makings at the market. Taos is pathetic and getting worse by the day. The food carts are the only hope.

All else for now just done in WAYS. To be Schwan #662 (2) toaster waffles, one cycle. Add usuals, nuke to plateful of mess. K-cup cocoa, to smoking room desk, eat & continue with the papers. In most cases, no urge to do a real lunch.

The food carts are the only hope. We have several food trailers in town, but they are more expensive than the restaurants. The food is good but unaffordable for most of the population of this small town. A new barbecue restaurant is opening in a few months and the owner is doing catering and his prices are ridiculous.

.. Except for those fry bread tacos! 😁 I have reservations, will be in Chinle day after tomorrow. I will rough it out in Cortez tomorrow, hope to find some good grub. I've been to Chinle a couple of times - to see Canyon de Chelly - back when I was seriously pursuing my photography. Drove out there in the fall of 1988 and photographed the Anasazi ruins, including the White House ruins, made famous be Ansel Adams. And Monument Valley, the Grand Canyon and other sites. Made a lot of notes about date, time of day, compass readings. Came back home, had the film developed (Kodachrome 64) and made plans for returning and reshooting. Printed out sun rise/sunset data and moon rise/phase/azimuth. Returned and photographed everything again - at the "right" time and date - in the spring of 1989. Brought my girl friend along with me. A 21 day road trip. Turned out, she doesn't like road trips. As a result, our marriage was postponed from the fall of that year to the fall of the next year! But I got some great shots of Canyon de Chelly, Monument Valley, Mesa Verde, and the Grand Canyon - and other sites.
